To me on the right side it looks like what we think the future would have looked like back during the 2000s.
For some reason to me the right side feels like an aesthetic Disney would come up with if they made a really good sci fi movie or animated sci fi movie during the 90s or 2000s. LE ME1's color palette and font reminds me of the J.J. Abrams Trek films.
Am I the only one with this sentiment?

Not really. I think overall MELE has a better look. It is more vibrant with richer textures. I will admit the red sky in classic's version of Eden Prime is a but more atmospheric and haunting but other than that MELE ME1 has a stronger presentation across the board.

For the most part, I like the changes MELE made to ME1. I was never a fan of the red sky on Eden Prime. Thought it looked really weird and a bit cheap. Also didn't really fit the lore of the planet as a farming colony. Or was it supposed to be red because of the colony being on fire or something? That also wouldn't make sense, the damage was severe but certainly not enough to change the overall sky color. I think the new visuals look much better, especially given that this is the first mission. My favorite overall change is Feros though. Really love the slight green filter they are using there. Makes it feel much more dusty somehow.
Otherwise, I do agree the Citadel lost a bit of it's blue tinge, which I did like in the original but nah, it's fine.
If I think something got lost, I'd rather point to ME2, where the original game had a much darker and more contrasted look overall, compare to MELE. I am sure there are mods or reshades for it though.
