Ok, so most fans saw the newest trailer promoting N7 day, and it featured what seemed to be Papa Ryder and another female character. It's been confirmeded by Mac Walters in a reply to MassEffectFollowers question about the mysterious female character (@n7folllower) in a Twitter post today (nov 3rd) that the female in the trailer is NOT MAMA RYDER. But don't worry, the truth will be given on N7 day next week though, Walters say more will be revealed about the female character then. Now regarding the female character and her relation to the story, I have a theory, laying it out now to see how it contrasts to what we see on N7 day. So in the Ps4 trailer, main Ryder (controlled player) was male. We've been told that the sibling you don't choose lives in the universe with you, but they are not by your side. Since the main Ryder in the ps4 trailer is male, the one that wasn't picked is female. In the N7 day trailer, you'll notice there is only one Arc/Large Main Ship in the background, but in the earlier trailers there were at least two or three. This suggests that these are two different expeditions. My theory is that the two people featured on the N7 day trailer are Papa and Sister Ryder, and that they were the FIRST to make the journey away from the Milky Way. Brother Ryder is part of a second expedition out of the Milky Way. Brace yourselves for N7 Day, we are in for a big scoop of details on the game!!!! So there it is! Discuss!! Any ideas, disagreements all are welcome! do the poll!

I don't think they'll differentiate like that. To clarify, I don't think gender will determine which Ryder was the first to set out on the journey. I should note that I do think that the Ryder seen alongside N7 is the female playable Ryder and not the female sibling npc Ryder.

I chose yes.
Its possible, though highly unlikely, the other person could be Ryder's lover and not his daughter. hahaha

I say yes ... but not absolutely. I think there is a good chance that is the sister half of "team Ryder," but still, just speculation at this point.
Different ships are possible ... I think the same ship might be more likely ... as pathfinders, each will have their own missions, so the sibling will quickly take a different path while our choice of protagonist becomes the main event in our story.
Anyway ... my two cents ... that and about $5 more will get you some bad coffee at your corner java shop.

I like the idea that the other Ryder will with Dad. And Maybe even become big bad together (hope this not true)
P.s. when I will able to vote on this forum?

I chose "Yes", since I see no reason to doubt that this is Ryder in the vid.
I keep thinking back to the leaked pre-Alpha footage, and the guy who gets stink-bombed and then dropped off a building. We only see him in scenes with dad and a female Ryder. The three all reappeared in that same scene in the officially released trailer, though not as clearly. I'm not overthinking this, but I have long wondered (and posted as much on the old BSN) whether "stink-bomb" is the brother.
Maybe he gets caught up with pirates or mercs? Maybe he just gets caught by pirates or mercs. Or, maybe that dude is just some unrelated douchebag who is involved with the story for a time. That is most likely. It looked like dad dropped him off the building; or someone in N7 gear did, at least. (I suspect he didn't fall far.) Curious. It will be amusing to look back on this speculation, no doubt, once the story is old news. We will smile at our blind flailing.

Yes. No reason to believe so far that they would bring another Ryder. We already have three in the game

I voted Yes. Makes sense that the main Protagonist of the game would be on the cover.
Edit; LOL My mistake. when I originally posted this, my belief was that we were discussing the December Gameinformer cover.

Voted yes. Also OP I don't think the game will start how you suggested, because I think that the twins* will be on the same arc & after you've completed the cc, you as the player get to choose who takes the main role**, otherwise, you'd have 2 different stories & 2 different sets of squads & I get the impression that's not the case.
Just my thoughts.
*Has anyone officially referred to the siblings as twins or did I draw my own conclusions ages ago? **Could be as simple as 'this one' or an action you need to take in the prologue, or anything really.

I don't see any indication of age difference or any difference between the children beyond that one might be just a little bit taller?
I haven't seen or cannot recall anything that has confirmed that the Ryders are twins. Personally, I think it is likely that they are since I don't see any point in making one the older sibling and younger sibling respectively but that is also influenced by how I don't think the sibling character will play much of a role and that I don't think they'd create that difference between player characters. If not twins then I think they'll simply not disclose if there is any age difference between the characters.

While I think it's likely she's F!Ryder, there's nothing to indicate that she's a Ryder at all. She could be Dad's second in command or a Jenkins destined to die before we even leave Luna.

It would be hassle free.

I chose It could be something else that we're not aware of.
It's entirely possible that we'll lose the father 1/8th the way through the game, but then his existing squad mates will live on and through them, they'll continue to teach you about being an N7.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's daughter Ryder. Though if it is, I don't get why not show the male also? This is suppose to be a family story, why not show the Father, the son, and the daughter. I think that would have been more interesting if this is in fact the daughter. I really hope the sibling the player does not choose will still be in our squad. I don't want this to be DA2 all over again; where the sibling gets taken out half of the game. I want there to be an actual bonding, or rivalry going on as we play along.

Since we have entire two days to go wild about this, I see two options. That's another Daddy's squadmate along with krogan. That's indeed SisRyder, which would fit "out there" line. And by "out there" he could mean "with Daddy", this way they'll keep amount of lines required for sibling to minimum.

The problem I'd see with having the "other sibling" involved is that you'd sort of be RPing an NPC on your next playthrough. As an example, the Hawke twins worked as companions because they were always going to be just NPC companions. You were never going to load up your next New Game as Carver. If you had, would his established personality have colored your RPing? Maybe this wouldn't bother many, but I suspect a lot of people would complain that this was stepping on their toes, constraining their ability to RP. I've seen RP complaints about far, far less.

That doesn't mean there won't be a bonding/rivarly. @hanako it's too early to say but I think there'll be a focus on the family, even if not necessarily related to the main plot. Why do you want little interaction only with the sibling? I recall you don't like the family part because it gives too much detail on our PC's background, but you mentioned only the sibling.

Well, as has been discussed before and even above in this thread the reason I'm hoping for as little interaction with the sibling is because unlike past games where they are a NPC this time they are the protagonist if you choose that sex. So that brings a bunch of issues, like as mentioned there personality being projected as their canon personality and if you play them you're limited to choices that are close to that canon personality.

I know it was not addressed at me but I would prefer not to have the sibling really be a thing. I'd much rather that they focus on allowing the player more freedom in deciding, within reason, how the player character's relationship to the father is like such as by not locking it into something like, say, a happy or unhappy relationship. I already don't think the sibling is going to be around much so I'd be more in favor of creating more oppertunities to flesh out the relationship to the father (through options).
