As above how large do you think the game area of the city will be, will it be one large map or several interconnected maps for each district, will it have verticality for stealthy approaches or deep explorable sewer and cisterns. I would be interested to hear any other peoples insights.

We don't know enough about this at the moment. But if you ask me what i wish, i would say: A map like DAO Denerim. Several interconnected maps for each district and each map a little different. Stealthy approaches would be nice especially for Tevinter. But i would also be fine, if it doesn't go the Joplin road their. I know that some will disagree with me, but the worst case for me would be DA2. The city was boring as well as every not city map. We will see.

I am hopeful that after travelling to the various locations featured in the latest reveal, we will spend much of our time actually in the city of Minrathous. I would like it to be like it was in Baldurs Gate or Athkatla in BG2, where the city is a main hub with multiple districts and quests associated with them, whether connected with the main plot, sub-plots or personal quests.
My fear is that we will end up with something like Val Royeaux, with perhaps only that seedy neon lit district from the trailer and concept art and perhaps a few small locations attached to it. That would be a supreme disappointment.
However, it is possible that the reason they haven't shown us more of Minrathous is that they want to keep that back as a reveal either this summer or even left to the game itself, so it will truly come as a major revelation when we reach there. For this to be true, they need to show all the iconic locations that featured in World of Thedas, such as the entrance with the giant golems guarding it, the Ambassadoria and giant catacombs under the city, the great Proving grounds on the surface constructed as a giant green triangular prism, like a great jewel in the centre of the city, the old temple of Razikale that was re-purposed as the Circle of Magi, apparently the best example of the architecture of the ancient Imperium, and of course the Grand Cathedral of the Imperial Chantry. If they pull this off, then it could be awesome.

I would make it as large as possible. Have different districts, upper class, middle class, lower class, markets, slums and even some seedier locations within the city. Instead of having to fast travel to different parts of the city, have some type of transportation, maybe a ski lift type system that travels around the whole city. It would be a great way to see the city from above. Just a thought.

We all know by now that the Dragon Age developers are prone to over-correcting their mistakes in subsequent instalments, so my guess is 'too big.' Is there any such thing? If there is, I'm sure the DA devs will find it!
(I say this with all my regard and affection for the entire series and Inquisition in particular, I just know what they're like by now.)

At minimum, I'd like to see something like Kirkwall, with around 2-4 decently sized zones.

I agree that the ideal would be an Athkatla or Kirkwall style big city with different districts. Then the city is big enough to explore and feel more realistic, but it isn't just one huge area that makes everyone's gaming rigs struggle.
