How is that a spoiler? The Roci goes to X station, the roci goes to uuuhh the Moon, or the roci goes to Paris....its not what I would consider spoiler wise at all. I think all of us who've read the books have been quite well behaved. Trust me. We could let many cats out of the bag if we wanted to. How the fuck is that not a spoiler? You've read the books? Congrats. Big whoop.

I have been very good about not mentioning anything that's happened in the books without either waiting for it to air first or using spoiler tags.

Just to let you know, the roci stuff is just an example. Its not a real spoiler at all. Its made up to showcase, in my opinion, things that really arent spoilers with regards to story or characters. Any wink/nods I've done so far for this thread, mostly book readers get them.
It would be like if I was watching Babylon 5 for the first time but say now, rather then its original run in the 90s, some basic things are already on the internet. In the grand scheme of things book readers here have been quite respectful.

If you're still on season 1, you don't know who Bobby is. Not sure why you're responding to me either. I haven't accused you of anything. Edit - My bad. Turns out I did quote you. The original spoiler post wasn't intended to be a response to you.

Lets see: Leviathan Wakes (2011) S1/S2 E5. Caliban's War (2012) S2/E6-E13, S3 E2 If the average is 15 eps equal one book....and if the ratings stay stable....plus if each season ends up being 13 each.... Abaddon's Gate (2013) S3 E3-E13/ S4 E2 Cibola Burn (2014) S4 E3-13/ S5 E2 Nemesis Games (2015) S5 E3-13/ S6 E2 Babylon's Ashes (2016) S6 E3-13/ S7 E2 And so on...it looks like they might have a decent setup for starting and capping each season. Persepolis Rising (2017) Unnamed novel 8 (2018) Unnamed novel 9 (2019) www.risingshadow.net/library/book/51771-persepolis-risingThis site says the next book might have a Nov. 7th 2017 release date.

Luckily I haven't addressed anything directly for book 2 If I did, then the Miller shebang of Ep 5 would have been catted all over the place. Back in the bags for yous. Besides I'm talking future stuff via Message system now. I'd really recommend getting on the book train as soon as possible. So much fun. Esp for guessing what future actors will play whom. Oh and I am super glad they got this line in from the books: “We’ve survived it. It’s a known quantity. I have a binder with nine hundred pages of analysis and contingency plans for conflict with Mars, including fourteen different scenarios about what we do if they develop an unexpected new technology. The binder for what we do if something comes up from Venus? It’s three pages long, and it begins Step One: Find God.”

I'm late to the party but have been binging this series (I'm on season 2 ep3) since last night. Freaking amazing. I love the little things it does and the nuances to keep things relatively realistic.Sci Fi's been on a tear these past few years with some great shows but The Expanse is on a whole nother level. The best thing it got right was a familiar cast (Thomas Jane can make anything interesting) and decent budget. I haven't read the books and probably never will for a while but I'm glad to have picked up this show. It'll tide me over as THE show until Game of Thrones returns. I love the pacing as it reminds me of GoT's with how multiple characters and plots happen at once unlike the garbage writing of The Walking Dead.

I miss Miller This has also turned into a must-watch kind of show for me. I like how few "filler" episodes there are, they all seem to move the plot forward at a good pace. I'm really curious if a certain Mao is going to show up this season.

Maybe bit less intense episode than previous ones, but still a good one. It's nice to be in the dark a bit again, no idea where things go next.

If they keep at this pace...we just might get 3/4th of the way thru book 2. Ill know for sure once I see where Bobbi is at by the end of the season. If you love Bobbi a whole lot, she's gonna be the shining star of this season.
I wish I could buy an MRCN ship model. Love that stuff.

Still not a fan of Bobbi yet. She starts off as Ashley Williams lite, this "tough girl" that tries too hard then when she gets a taste of action becomes this whimpering welp. Time will tell. Methinks we haven't seen/heard the last of Miller. It's Thomas f'n Jane. He's too big of a name to go out so early. Really liking Amos this season though. His juxtaposition with Alex is one of the highlights of the show.

In the books, I didnt really start getting into Bobbi's character arc til she hit earth. Pax is gonna be great.
I think people are going to like the parts with Bobbi and the Spaceliner. And who she teams up with.

If you really want Ken, just put me on ignore. Bobbi going to Earth isn't a spoiler. It was in the actual show last episode. I could be lawful evil and put in alll sorrrts of book story line spoilers but I am not doing that. In fact, maybe to make you happier, Ill make a book only thread. If the mods want me to.
But on to the show. Ep 7....Id say they are about 15-20% into Book 2. I'm hoping they get thru most of it but I'd say season 2 will get 3/4ths of the way. Unless they put more of the novellas into the series.
It takes her arc a little bit to warm up. I'm hoping they put more book lines in. She gets so many good lines later on.
But to the point, I can't wait to see what the effects people do for the later episodes. You all are in for some really awesome treats later.

Putting you on ignore would be the easy way out. I'd much rather you weren't inconsiderate and posted book shit in spoiler tags. Or better yet, create your a separate book thread and let us enjoy the TV show thread spoiler free.

Bobbi is a fairly deep character. You'll see more of that later on. She might seem like "Ash-lite" but if they keep the story on track where its at...you'll have a deeper appreciation for her later. Just wait and see how it plays out. They might even put parts of....a certain novella into the season...or it might serve as a bridge to season 3. Looks like they are giving Amos a pretty interesting detour. And Ill leave it at that.

What she went through was a bit more than just "a taste of action" book spoiler: Her entire squad was literally torn apart by a protomolecule creature. They poured everything they had into it barely slowed it down. The only reason she survived was because it exploded before it could finish her off But yes, Amos is much better this season

Watched the last chapter, Learned a little more about Bobbi, still not clear what happened during that fight. Can someone explain what's this drug that the Martians are taking during interrogation? Is it simply something that enhances perception and other brain functions? "It’s a focus pill. It heightens the senses to the point of being able to hear your subject’s heart-beat and discern the micro-twitches in their face and eyes, indicating whether they are lying or telling the truth. The focus pill is lifted straight from the novel." Can't find much more info about it.
