No surprise at all. A fairly weak show in my view (though I did like the Lego Horizon). Didn't even put on my clown makeup.

No surprise at all. A fairly weak show in my view (though I did like the Lego Horizon). Didn't even put on my clown makeup. A Sony game coming out on Nintendo Switch was definitely not on my Bingo card, but I'm all for it. There were a few indies shown at the wholesome direct that caught my attention, even if half that show was "animal characters gathering and crafting."

This is a bit of a strange one. Since DA:V is on Frostbite and the next ME is (very likely) on Unreal, I'm not sure how that would streamline the work. Making them functionally the same for some baseline consistency between franchises? I'm guessing that's the reasoning behind it... True, although I am assuming that any future DA game will also be on Unreal. And while we can - apparently - control the companion abilities, I don’t know if we can control them directly outside of that; like basic attacks or exploration, for example. Maybe DAVe is supposed to ease us in to the fact that we won’t be able to micromanage like we’ve been able to in the past. Are we sure about that? Maybe the next ME and DA games will be on Frostbite? There is a lot of money to $$$AVE by not using Unreal.

There is a lot of money to $$$AVE by not using Unreal. Am I 100% sure? No. I think I saw/read that the next ME was being developed on UE5, but maybe I'm getting confused. It happens to the elderly from time to time. But I am fairly certain I read that, and that going forward, Bioware would be using one consolidated engine for development. Yes, there are costs associated with using Unreal versus Frostbite, but the flipside of that is the huge number of devs with relevant Unreal expertise, as opposed to the much smaller pool with Frostbite cred. Even CDPR are dropping their excellent RedEngine to develop the next Witcher and Cyberpunk games on Unreal. Sign of the times.
