Lucanis Dellamorte - Official Companion Thread [Spoilers]

I'm hoping it may be just to do with the fact that he has some unique equipment as a Master Assassin for the Crows (they are wings after all) or he has acquired since he went solo from his new sponsor. This idea is reinforced somewhat by the top down look on the group because the wings definitely seem to have come from the back of his cloak/jacket, although I suppose it is equally possible that if they are a manifestation of spirit wings they could simply be located there for aesthetics. They don't seem to be for flying so probably some sort of shielding effect. His cloak in the tarot card even has purple wings as a motiff. Although the short story about the Crows from 2022 was called As we Fly and the concept art showed Crows leaping off buildings and sort of gliding downwards, so perhaps that has something to do with it. Purple definitely seems to have some connection with the Veilguard because Rook's clothing is purple in the trailer.

As for the glowing eyes, well Emmrich's glow as well and are much more obvious than Lucanis'. So, it could be something symbolic rather than actual possession. Surely they wouldn't have two people possessed in the game? Even if he is, that isn't the end of the world because as has been demonstrated with both Solas' friend Wisdom/Pride, Cole's Compassion/Despair and Anders Justice/Vengeance, every demon is really just a spirit that has been corrupted into its opposite attribute and yet can be restored with the right encouragement to its more positive nature. If Lucanis is possessed, I think a spirit of Justice is the most likely candidate because that was very much his motivation in Tevinter Nights and his cousin, Illario, pointed out that is not how Crows usually approach a job; they are purely in it for the fee and morality doesn't enter into it. You get the job done and get out. It is actually why I wanted to meet Lucanis after Tevinter Nights because I was interested to learn was brought about this change in him when his education from a young child had been geared towards conditioning him to act without regard to anything else.
