That said, there are something like ~122 core abilities on the tree, plus another 15 per specialization. Flippin' heck, I must have missed that part. Oh well, then there will be plenty of scope for completely different builds then. However, don't some paths lead to your specialism and others don't? So, whilst the overall web might have 122 abilities, some you will not take (at least initially) because you are working towards your specialism and the build that is most relevant to that. Thus, perhaps you can rule out some abilities until late in the game, even if you could take them if you wanted to. That was the case for me in DAI. 120 divided by 3 = 40, plus 15 for the specialism and 2 that perhaps most people take = 57. That would make sense. I await details with interest. No. With this skill tree beeing similar to FFX all ways get you to your specialism. Since the middle part is a ring you can go left, right or through the inner circle.
Have you read the game informer articels? Their were photos of the skill trees. Sadly i can't like them here. But i have found a video start at 2:00.
Their will be plenty of replayability.

No. With this skill tree beeing similar to FFX all ways get you to your specialism. Since the middle part is a ring you can go left, right or through the inner circle. You misunderstand me. I'm not saying you will be prevented from taking an alternative path or paths to your specialism but I imagine that there will be one or more that is going to be the ideal path to maximise your abilities to enhance the specialism and since you are only likely to advance one point each level (except in special circumstances), you will need to follow this path to achieve your best build by the end of the game. So you can meander off if you wish but you will be less effective as a result. It has always been like this. Back in DAO you could follow multiple spell schools but that would prevent you maxing out as quickly in one or two. If you selected other abilities instead of from your specialism, it would slow your progress there. Likewise, if you wanted to be a dual wielding fighter, you wouldn't select from sword and shield or two handed and you would also have to sacrifice your strength score in order to have the required dexterity. Obviously they have done away with some of these features, such as strength and dexterity scores, since then but the same logic still applies. So, what I was saying is that there may 122 abilities potentially available on the skill web but you will have to choose wisely to maximise your potential in your chosen field and specialism because you are never going to select all 122 by the time your reach level 50. More likely you are going to reach 55 or 57 by that time and your path may differ based on which specialism you choose to follow.

So you can meander off if you wish but you will be less effective as a result. It could be, though we'll have to see how the skill trees are built. For example, in the Mage Skill Tree, there are Sustain | Control | Burst branches in addition to branches that lead to your spec. There could be synergy in going the route they've picked in the image below we just don't know about yet. We've been told we specializations won't factor in until mid-game, so that could be 12-15-20 levels. The 30th level Mage example has 39 APs. I assume 1st level gives you a few and the others from progressing the story. It takes 11 APs to get to your specialization (though it sounds like you won't be able to access it until some story point mid-game), but you can respec freely, so I'm thinking there'll be effective low-level builds which you might want to respec once you get your spec.

From the SDCC VA Panel: felassan.tumblr.com/post/758277879334420480/transcript-of-part-of-the-datv-meet-theJohn: Absolutely. So Neve, as you can see in the video, is one of the first companions that you encounter in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. She’s from Tevinter, Minrathous specifically. And anyone who’s played Dragon Age before knows that we’ve always talked about Minrathous, we’ve always talked about Tevinter, so we wanted to have a character who showed, not the parts of Tevinter that we’ve touched on before, you know, obviously slavery is a big part of it, it’s a mageocracy, but somebody who was pushing back, fighting back against that. And Neve’s shown up in the ancillary media as well, in the comics The Missing. And it’s just, she is that, you know, somewhat cynical detective with a bit of a heart of gold, bit of [a?] romantic, and just seeing her character evolve over the course of The Veilguard, over the course of the game, because again, she’s one of the first people you meet, is. Always fun seeing Neve’s character bounce off other the followers, banter has been super fun, just the way that she, what she brings to the table is always, it’s always so interesting to me. Lucy: Yeah. I mean, what drew you, what’s your favorite thing about Neve? – get that applause going, go on, let’s go! Jessica: I love her loyalty, I love her dedication, I love how much she loves Docktown and its people and how she really sees a different vision for Tevinter than, as John said, than what’s previously been depicted. And she’s really really fighting for those people, and she loves those people, and so yes she’s cynical, and yes she’s kinda tough and brusque and all these other things, but when they say there’s a heart of gold, there really, like to have that kind of a passion and dedicate your life to something like that, I think that, that’s my favorite part about her.

The definitely sounds like my type. She could almost be my canon PC every game. So it will be good to have someone who actually shares my values and goals. I thought that was going to be Solas but sadly that was wrong. I'm looking forward to discovering more about Neve's background.
Also, pleased to learn that standard Shadow Dragon gear is black leather, which will offset Neve's predominately white outfit rather nicely.

Yep. Neve will be my first romance. My first DA character is always a female mage, so maybe I'll roll a fire mage (can we do that?) for head canon purposes.

I really hope we will see a pic of Neve without her veil and her hat before the release of the game, with her entire face showed off. It's getting annoying. Uh oh.. eeh.. Okay ! Well, I didn't expect my wish to be resolved that quickly ! Well done Bioware ! Pic of Neve Hello there beauty ! What a gorgeous woman you are ! Yeees ! Now I can state such thing ! I was determined not to admit it, until Neve properly introduced herself ! She had to take off her hat first ! How rude, the only one who always had to keep her hat on among other companions, hiding her attractive face. Also impressive, in spite of the artstyle, she does give the feeling of a realistic woman you could fall upon in our world lol. Morrigan in DAO, Isabela in DAII, Josephine in DAI are my canon romance, Neve is very very likely to be the one in Veilguard. I liked very much the bit of romance we've seen. That intense gaze Rook gave her while being very close to her and taking her hand. " Rook and you " is okay Neve, don't be scared !

Think DA has quite the track record here. Easily in my top 3 right now, alongside Lucanis and Harding. (Maybe because of TN) I feel like I've known Neve for longer, and I was happy to see so much of her in the trailer! Yeah we'll see how much Oliver can resist her when he gets around to it. They definitley seem to be playing up Neve for the female romance and then Lucanis and Emrrich for the men.

Also impressive, in spite of the artstyle, she does give the feeling of a realistic woman you could fall upon in our world lol. Absolutely agree with this. She reminds me even more of a younger me in looks as well as character, except she is way more attractive facially. More like I saw myself in my head and then the mirror would bring me down to reality. Neve, though, is genuinely gorgeous, is confident but not bitchy with it. My male Rook is not going to be able to resist her. " Rook and you " is okay Neve, don't be scared ! Same here, she has nothing to worry about with my Rook. Also, it looks like I don't have to worry about her either. I wonder who that mage is that she is confronting towards the end of the trailer. Could it be someone she knows? She looked pretty determined and something about that look made me wonder if it was personal. The leader of the Shadow Dragons, the Viper, may be? Perhaps he has been deceiving them all this time. That would account for the weird shadowy figure in the background of the tarot card. Also, I can't help wondering about all the snakes covering Tevinter on the latest map that has been issued.

I've just realised how comical that statement by Neve about finding a relationship with Rook scary seems after seeing what we are up against in the trailer. So we're facing impossible odds, with the likelihood of death at every turn and Rook makes her nervous. May be Rook is her first romance. Wouldn't that be something. Well, it would be for me. I usually seem to end up with someone at some point in my play throughs who has regrets, or a sad tale about a lover in their past: Zevran (the Crows really messed with his head), Anders (well actually I dodged the bullet with him but not before I learned about Karl being his former lover), Dorian (who Cole tactlessly spilled the beans on about him wondering about a former lover in Tevinter), Cassandra, whose former lover was blown up at the Conclave and I learned about during our romantic tryst. Please let Neve not be pining for a lost lover in her past. EDIT: My other lovers, with the exception of Josephine, haven't been much better. Morrigan left me whether I do the dark ritual or not. (May get back together some time later); Leliana leaves me for the Divine (eventually may get back together but with her changed mentally beyond recognition due to actions of another); Alistair dumps me if I make him King since I am an elf/mage/something not acceptable (no I am not prepared to be his mistress and he only suggests that if hardened); Fenris walks out on me after sex and leaves me hanging for two years; Solas dumps me, promises to tell me why when Corypheus has been defeated, instead leaves and absents himself for two years, then tells me he is going to destroy my world, but it's okay because he'll never forget me. Honestly, I do pick 'em. Thinking about it, may be Neve has had similar experiences and that is why she is nervous. You and me both.

No silly hat seems to make ALL the difference and the outfit looks great now. Her face looks good here too. Undecided on the voice acting. Tonally it's fine, need to see more of how she delivers her lines. Was not impressed in the gameplay demo at all. I can see myself romancing her with male Rook. I was going to pick Harding because Ali Hillis. But we'll see. Bellara is getting less appealing by the minute. Absolutely hate her lines and delivery. Hopefully she won't be as annoying as she seems in the promo stuff. I really liked Neve in her short story. She seems like a genuinely good and mature person. Reminds me of the detective woman from the Hyperion novels, if anybody read them?

I'm sorry but nothingt beats playing DAO for the first time and having your lover Alistair sacrifice himself for his warden! I was in complete shock. I was going to have my elf warden do the heroic sacrifice and then the idiot ruins it. And the worst part is the party afterwards where almost nobody mentions him. I was gutted and had to listen to how happy everyone was... Jeez. Trauma for life!

Any ideas on who the person she is confronting in the Trailer is? It likely has something to do with her Tarot card, and given his blood magic usage probably Venatori leader of some sort.

Yeah I'm thinking for th e Rook I romanc eNev ewit hgo wit ha nhonourable handsom ewarrior typ eas I thin kshe' d appreciate someone lik ethat from wha twe've sen in the trailers.
