You guys just don't get it. It's all very specific and carefully thought out: the fascinator protects her face from the sun on one side, the hair covers the other side, the veil handles the front. And she gets to look cool AF in like noir vintage-chic profesh Tevinter private eye lewks and be wrinkle-free at the same time.

Im only 10 minutes into the DA podcast that has been released and already I feel very lost and confused. I have this sense of not knowing who these characters are, what their history is, what their purpose is.....Are they important to Veilguard? What is their link to the rest of the DA games or novels (which, btw, I haven't ready any of).

All companions make cameo so if you want to see a bit of their personality, hear voice acting ?

IMO, the only character at the moment that doesn't look awful. My issue with DAV is with what's been shown, I don't care about anyone or like the look of them. The two elves look very off. About the only character I would even consider romancing at the moment if I chose to do so. Neve is the only one that was ok. Hope her personality and story make her more interesting. Design wise, the only character I find unattractive is Taash. She is straight up hideous, although some people insist otherwise. Neve and Lucanis are easily the best. Agree. Her design is also bad because she doesn't look as detailed as the female qunari in the trespasser DLC. I think Lucanis animates pretty well. But the other characters just don't do it for me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there has never been a black or asian looking elf in the series until now correct? If you want those races represented, I think they should have been human. Also from what I've seen Bellara is that cute/quirky type and that's not it for me. Esp with how she is written. Harding also looks off to me. Not sure how to explain but her face looks strange. I'll give everyone a chance at the end of the day, but no one looks cool to me. And DA has always excelled at it's characters over it over arching stories to me.

What Taash really needed was not one but TWO giant books, one for each shoulder, so she can have some padding when she plows into people like a linebacker. Tabris's mother appears in Leliana's Song DLC, and is Black. Or as black as you can be in a game where most characters look like they have a bad spray tan.

Agree. Her design is also bad because she doesn't look as detailed as the female qunari in the trespasser DLC. ...what The qunari in DAV just look very off. Like they lack detail. They are extremely smooth skinned like a human with horns. This exists with Taash as well as in the created qunari I see. Even the Arishok in 2 looked more detailed to me. The female qunari who is aggressive towards you in the DLC in inquisition was more detailed looking. The qunari in DAV look less distinguished than what we saw in the past.

I only ever played that DLC once years ago. But it's definitely not common. I also do not remember seeing any Asians in DA represented. Unless we count Dorian who I believe is supposed to be Indian.

the qunari in DAV just look very off. like they lack detail. like they are extremely smooth skinned like a human with horns. like even the Arishok in 2 looked more detailed to me. the female qunari who is aggressive towards you in the DLC in inquisition was more detailed looking. Viddasala's forehead and horns actually look more like Qunari in DAVe (or female Qunari in DAI) than, say, what Arishok or Iron Bull had. The reason you may think it's 'more detailed' it's because she wears an elaborate hedgear. She's also clearly older (while Taash is already officially established as one of the youngest Veilguard members, if not the youngest) and has both facial and forehead wrinkles that have nothing to do with horns. Anyway - having smoother foreheads, or different ways the skin wraps around forehead and the horn bases does not equal "lack of detail". They simply chose to make that area somewhat different - in DA 2 and in some cases in DAI they chose to make it seem like the horns are ripping quite violently from underneath the skin, resulting in uneven edges, while in DAVe they chose a more natural look - in a sense that it looks more like horns on something that actually has horns, like goats and bovines (with difference being that Qunari have no fur, lol) Never mind that the most 'horns rip through the skull violently' in Qunari - a race known for breeding themselves like dogs or horses to fulfill certain roles - happens on foreheads of those who belong to Antaam, or actively partake in combat.

Upon looking at it again I still prefer the qunari lady in DAI. She has sharper features and overall looks better to my eyes. Perhaps it's the lighting, but the detail on her skin also looks better. I'm also in disagreement in lack of detail you summarized. When you say natural, it seems that you are equating it to our real world. Qunari are a fantastical race of frowning ox men. The fact that their brows are furrowed or their horns appear to violently jut out from their heads made me believe they were a ficitonal race. I appreciate this type of detail and it distinguished them a bit more from humans. It was obviously a huge improvement over someone like Sten. Also, maybe it's just how the people created them and I hope they are wrong. But the few images of created qunari I saw looked like just humans with horns. In Inquisition, I remember qunari created characters looked very disctint from human besides just the size and the horns.
