God you know for the romances like I'd want to pick Neve but I am getting some sus vibes from her... So then I would default to Bellara for the first PT...but then I am getting sus vibes from HER. ...And in the end the twist will be that there was no twist But I need my apostate's betrayal for a 4th game in a row!

But I need my apostate's betrayal for a 4th game in a row! *looks askance at the elf mage with a fascination for ancient elven artifacts* Yeah, I think you will still get your wish. On the other hand, that also describes Merrill who is one of the most loyal mages in the series.

De-emphasizing the the cobra detail. Which just makes her look even more suspicious... I'm still not sure about the shadowy figure in the background but the leader of the Shadow Dragons is called the Viper. So could emphasising the decoration on her leg be referencing that in some way. Perhaps it is just pointing to her link to the organisation but could she possibly be the Viper? Technically, the Shadow Dragons have only become a faction since Tevinter Nights. Back then there was an anti-slavery group that was broadly opposed to the Venatori but after her experiences in Streets of Minrathous and the indications that the Venatori are still a force to be reckoned with in Tevinter, perhaps Neve thought they should organise themselves a bit better. With her contacts both in the underworld and the Imperial Templars, who was better placed than Neve to manage this? They are probably also aligned with the Lucerni to some extent in that both groups oppose the corruption in the Magisterium but Dorian and Maevaris only really wanted limited reform, whereas it would seem the Shadow Dragons want revolutionary change in the status quo. Even if Neve isn't actually the Viper (becuase it was implied in the short story that the Viper was male), I think she may know their true identity. The shadowy figure could be the Viper. In the short story picture he has his head thrown back so it might really be a pointed hat:

Joke aside, I think any of the 7 companions have potential to be betrayer. It all depends what they want in the end.

Well, I already said what else could be a twist But anyway - while we know there will be 7 companions, we still don't know whether there will be other important NPCs in role similar to advisors in Inquisition.

They updated her Tarot Card (Taash's as well) NEWOLD What's the point of uncrossing her legs? We can still sorta see the cobra design. I didn't even notice any difference until someone pointed it out specifically.

What's the point of uncrossing her legs? We can still sorta see the cobra design. I didn't even notice any difference until someone pointed it out specifically. See my above post. It could be simply pointing to her membership of the Shadow Dragons or something more specific. It was always visible but just more so now. She already had her prosthetic leg in Tevinter Nights. Did it always have this design? It was made for her by dwarves so I imagine the decoration was specifically asked for by her as it is not really functional (or is it?) and I can't see dwarves, even those of the Ambassadoria, specifically decorating one of their works with serpent. A dragon possibly but a serpent? However, there have been references to snakes in Tevinter iconography. Notice how the banner for Tevinter has a dragon seemingly opposed by a snake, so there must be something to Tevinter lore concerning snakes we haven't been told about previously. Could the snake really be a symbol of Razikale, associated with the kingdom of Tevinter and patron of Minrathous?

Further thoughts. The priests of Razikale left the following inscriptions in the Frostback Basin: If the Imperium has fallen, we shall build it anew. This citadel shall be a new Minrathous, and we who serve the Twisted Path shall be its Magisterium. Praise be to Razikale—may our raised voices reach her and bring her back to us at last.
To She Who Winds the Skein of Wisdom, we dedicate this citadel. Dragon of Mystery, bestow upon your faithful servants your ineffable truth. Grant us your eyes to pierce the darkness and souls to bear the wounds of your labyrinth.
They speak of serving the Twisted Path and of the labyrinth of the goddess, both of which could be symbolically represented by a serpent's coils. They also speak of the Imperium having fallen and building it anew in the south. This was presumably around the time of the First Blight as their goddess had fallen silent and they came south to try and restore contact with her. However, knowing so little about the practices or beliefs of the individual priesthood of the Old Gods, it is possible that since cults to the Old Gods do still exist in Tevinter, the Shadow Dragons could have been founded by a priest/priestess of the goddess Razikale and whilst not revealing their true allegiance to the majority of their members, it can be discerned by the fact that they call themselves the Viper. Of course, according to the record left by Hessarian in the Canticle of Silence, they were also known as the Augur of Mystery.

It looks like an Arcane Horror... Yeah, it does. Wait until her romance arc and you find she is an Arcane Horror. oh god, after what you said and after reading gervaise post, for some reason I created a theory in my head that Neve is an Old Magister (maybe the rumored magister no.8, which, according with that "Codex entry: Constellation: Draconis" from DAI, it's existence is speculated and " fueled by older drawings showing Draconis as more serpentine in appearance") my DA lore is rusted and I'm replaying the games and reading the books to catch up, but maybe someone could already debunk this theory so I can put my mind at ease also, I'm now suspecting that Neve's hat is creating the "pointy thing of the monster's head in the shadow on the wall"

my DA lore is rusted and I'm replaying the games and reading the books to catch up, but maybe someone could already debunk this theory so I can put my mind at ease Well look on the bright side, it could be an Old God cult to Draconis, that pre-dates the Imperium and wants to restore what it once was. The conversation at the end of Minrathous Shadows gives a clue: Venatori Magister: "Who are you? What do you want? Gold? Power?” Tarquin smirked. “We’re the Tevinter you forgot. What do we want?” From behind the magister, the dealer put up his hood. “Everything".
See how Tarquin, an Imperial Templar, so just an ordinary soldier working for the Magisterium, says "We're the Tevinter you forgot", just like Draconis. So as you say, perhaps that codex was hinting that Draconis wasn't really a dragon but a serpent and perhaps the god's name or the name of their high priest is the Viper. It may also be unconnected but there was a codex in Jaws of Hakkon which had the following mystery that someone had unearthed: "I speak of Orlais' attempts to rouse the Snake Kings of the Earth against Tevinter's alliance with the Moon Men." Then in the Descent we found a journal about a war between ancient dwarves and the Scaled Ones, strange creatures that conducted blood rituals and who also seemed to venerate fire. It may be nothing but I do wonder about these references popping up concerning snakes and their connection with ancient Tevinter. It could explain why Draconis looks serpentine and why it was struck from the gods after the Imperium came into being, having originally been a god of the Kingdom of Tevinter. Back then it seemed mages didn't automatically rule, which is why the throne was usurped by a non-mage who managed to hold onto power until Darinius returned and reclaimed the throne that had once been occupied by his mother.

To She Who Winds the Skein of Wisdom, we dedicate this citadel. Dragon of Mystery, bestow upon your faithful servants your ineffable truth. Grant us your eyes to pierce the darkness and souls to bear the wounds of your labyrinth. That entry is super revealing in connecting the Old Gods to the Evanuris. Skein is an excellently placed word with multiple meanings that perfectly describes Ghilan'nain. I found it interesting that the face is carved on both sides of the monolith..."two-faced," duplicitous. Part of why I think she is or was pulling the strings...well a great many of them anyways.

I'm not so sure - but considering she's a literal detective and we already relied on her investigative competence to find Solas I think she might find herself in a situation where she finds out something out and that may either change her perspective or (for a moment at least) she may do something that looks pretty shady.

Both have their Agenda and try to get their. Morrigan with leaving us to twist in the wind and Vivien maybe a little shady. What i mean was Neve has a similar age and have the same certain tone. She is definitely a self-confident women. The Rest we can't say yet.

ah yes, Neve. The number one thing I like is she smokes a pipe. That is something different. Hopefully my character can smoke as well. He/she meet's up with Neve in a tavern to drink and smoke while talking smack about whatever.

The above is simply me providing an alternate scenario for where things may be going with Neve - one we don't necessarily have to connect with any previous DA character.

I liked Neve a lot n TN. Smart, determined, courageous, observant (which, God bless, because she'd suck as a detective otherwise), values her sleep, has a penchant for ice magic like me, dislikes slavers, and eats greasy disgusting fish from street vendors to help small business owners. And she's pretty, and I like her outfit's color scheme. Oh, and she's got a cool-looking staff-wand thingy!
