If I remember from books and game wasn’t it implied possibly from morrigan that the warden was at weisshaupt? Thats where the griffins were being trained? Isn’t it where our fade companion also went?

If I remember from books and game wasn’t it implied possibly from morrigan that the warden was at weisshaupt? Thats where the griffins were being trained? Isn’t it where our fade companion also went? No, the Warden was somewhere out west, which quite frankly could be anywhere west of Orlais. Possibly in the Tirashan Forest, which is huge, or even off the map entirely. Morrigan was going to join them wherever they were. Their other LI did too, unless it was Leliana. Then in Trespasser she was going into retirement with them on the coast of Orlais or Ferelden (I can't remember which). No further information given as to whether they found a cure for the Blight or not, which is why they went there into the west in the first place, but I assume they didn't because it would have been a pretty big deal if they had. Basically they needed an excuse why the Warden wasn't caught up in the False Calling and that was the best they could come up with. So, apart from a possible generic codex referring to the Warden, I doubt we will hear or see them.

Thats where the griffins were being trained? Isn’t it where our fade companion also went? The griffons and the Fade companion are a slightly different issue. Clearly Davrin has the care of one of the griffons from the Last Flight. It is possible we may see the others. Perhaps if we choose Warden as a background we will get one of our own. I suppose we will just have to wait and see. As for the Fade companion, I think it is highly unlikely we will see them. There are too many variables and it was around 10 years ago they went there. We know from Trespasser that Hawke was back in Kirkwall if they were the one who survived, with nothing else other than some jokey comment from Varric as to what they might have done up there. I'm guessing the others will just have returned south in much the same way and rebuilt the southern Wardens, which was meant to be the intent if you let them survive instead of Hawke. May be just a codex to say what the generic person did up there. Thus, I don't expect to see any of them either, or Blackwall for that matter if you got him to join up as originally intended.

Well I’m hoping as at the end game of inquisition mortigan mentioned all contact with weisshaupt was lost but yet here comes a warden with a griffon I think it is one of those cases of an "unreliable narrator", in this case Morrigan. May be she was out of the loop after she left Skyhold and didn't get the latest update. Actually the novel the Last Flight seemed to contradict a lot that was in DAI, in particular the epilogue, but that was where we were told how the griffons were resurrected and returned to the world, so I assume that is the more accurate account that superseded Morrigan's information. In that novel it was clear the First Warden was worried about something because he was delaying putting new recruits, particularly mages, through the Joining and was getting them to research all they could on instances of blood magic being used in their texts. However, beyond not having heard from Clarel for a while, which was nothing out of the ordinary for more distant Wardens, everything seemed to be running normally. They were even getting communications from Denerim that seemed to suggest nothing was wrong with the Wardens in Ferelden. It seems odd that they hadn't been informed about Corypheus or had heard about the Inquisition but presumably that was down to Leliana and Josephine. This isn't the only instance of anomalies with DAI appearing in associated media. In Tevinter Nights the Wardens seemed to be operating normally in Horror of Hormack until they discover the strange pools, which I believe was somewhere in Nevarra (would need to check that). Also Evka and Antoine had been called back urgently to Weisshaupt in the Hunger, which the reader might assume was connected with that earlier story, yet they appear in the comic series the Missing as though nothing is amiss in that connection and they are looking for missing Wardens in connection with something strange occurring at Marnas Pell. So either the writers are ignoring continuity or all will be made clear when we finally get to Weisshaupt.

The real question is a two parter:
1. Do I get a baby griffin? 2. Can I name them Feathers?

1. Do I get a baby griffin? 2. Can I name them Feathers? I see what you did there. Isn't that the name Merrill would have chosen? I did wonder if getting a baby griffon might be a perk of being a Warden. However, they have probably already been imprinted on other Wardens. If one of them should die though. That's how Isseya acquired Revas, because her former rider, a Dalish elf, had been killed. I rather like the fact that Assan is the offspring of Crookytail, the hero with Garahel of the 4th Blight, who sacrificed himself so Garahel could get to the Arch-demon and Smoke the griffon that Garahel gave to his lover, Amadis.

The real question is will we be able to fly a Griffon? Probably not. Assan didn't look big enough to carry a person in flight in the trailer but can help us in fights. So a winged, feathered substitute for Dog.
