Hi, Firstly I would like to ask everyone here how flexible is Steam at issuing refunds on Pre-Orders? You see (and I don't know why I did this!) I accidentally opened Steam and pre-ordered Veilguard (because honestly I think it is the better platform, the more stable platform with the better Library) but I have all the other Dragon Age titles on the EA App and I wanted to keep them all together. So I was actually wanting to pre-order through EA. I only realized my mistake after I finalized everything! I came-to and thought "oh shit! I'm in totally the wrong app! I wanted to order it through EA!" So I immediately reached out to Steam Support and explained the situation, requesting a refund.
How likely am I to receive it? Will they think "Nah, this dude's an idiot. It's his mistake and we want the money so he's gonna have to suffer with the consequence of his thoughtlessness. No Refund for him!" OR will they be more apt to show grace and issue me the refund?
Also....I'm curious what is your platform of choice for Veilguard? EA or Steam? I wouldn't mind doing it through Steam because as I said I think it is the better platform, but I have all the other DA titles on EA and I would like to keep them all together.

As far as I remember Steam generally refunds anything with less than two hours played without any questions asked.
EDIT: I'd greatly prefer Steam over EA Crapp even though all my other DA titles are on it.

I don't know about refunds since I've never had the need but I'd definitely chose Steam...being able to play the game offline and mod support are the two biggest advantages.

I mean, if you really want all the games on the same platform, I think you can get the DA trilogy, including all DLC, for under $5 on Steam. I did not that long ago, at least.
$10, sorry.

You won't have any problem with getting a refund, because it's a preorder, but personally I would choose Steam if I was you. I'm lucky and I never had serious problems with EA app, but Steam is still better platform, in my opinion.

HI everyone. Thannk you for all your speedy replies. I've received the full refund from Steam and gone ahead with the originally intended pre-order purchase through EA. I do agree that Steam is the better platform for many reasons, but I haven't really ever had major problems with the EA App itself (only the Customer SErvice for not answering questions). The app itself has been fine. And as I said I would greatly prefer to keep all my Dragon Age titles under one roof.
Thanks for yoru thoughts though!

I thought DA2 and maybe even Inquisition still required Origin?(or whatever they call it now) If they don't I might have to get them on PC considering my Origins disc got hurt and can't play on the 360 anymore.

You can connect your Steam and EA accounts so your Steam ganes show up in the EA app. Not sure how achievements and such are handled though.

When ME 2 and 3 Collector's Editions were available at GameStop in physical form...I would prefer to purchase those because I liked collecting the boxes. But then I cracked one of the disks for the CE of ME 2....and decided to re-purchase it digitally through EA. Now I greatly prefer Digital Downloads. They're worry free in terms of damage or lost Keys and much more convenient.

I recently bought DAO and DA2 on Steam since my PS3 broke, and play them currently. DAO doesn't require Origin/EA App. But for DA2, I had to install the EA App, and you have to run both Steam and the EA App for it (EA App runs in the background for me). I assume it would be the same for DAI.

I've had serious issues running Origins through Steam (never with 2, though), and there are other people who have also run into major problems. It requires extensive patches and honestly functions better on GOG (although I still recommend patches). Just bear that in mind if you go that route.

Steam takes a 30% cut from the game revenue, while on EA Play (a.k.a. Origin), EA presumably keeps 100% for themselves. Therefore, a $60 game sold on Steam means $42 for EA, while a $60 game sold on EA play means $60 for EA.
That is something to consider, all else being equal.
Personally, I've pre-ordered mine on Steam. I like Steam, most of my games are in there, and I am not feeling that charitable towards EA.
