There was a good sci fi spaceship game during the 2010s and it was called "Mass Effect 3".
We should have gotten a really good sci fi game with a good cinematic single player story that would have gotten more people including teens excited for space travel and the future.
There was "Mass Effect Andromeda" but it was more like a cheesy CW show.
And adding R rated sex scenes would probably have greatly reduced sales among young people.
Who here agrees?

I don't know how many people want to re-litigate the legacy of ME 3 and MEA, but they both have forums dedicated to them if you're looking.
Personally, nudity wouldn't have really changed much about my experience.

Reduced sales? Pretty sure R rated sex scenes would have boosted sales specially among young people

I remember being kind of surprised to hear that Mass Effect usually sells more units than Dragon Age, given that fantasy seems to be much more popular than sci-fi in gaming in general. Though maybe that actually helps ME because it doesn't have as much direct competition, especially if you want an RPG with dialogue choices. I remember originally disliking the Cerberus aspect of ME2 and looking around for other, similar sci-fi RPG franchises, and I didn't find much.
