There must be a reason why people are crashing in Origins. I wonder if it's a Windows 11 thing? I'm still running Windows 10. All I can say is that I've got everything maxed out, am running a tonne of graphical enhancement mods such as high resolution textures, shaders etc. and the game (for me) is as smooth as glass and never crashes. If it's due to Windows 11 then I'm nervous about upgrading to it. I have issues with in in windows 10, 4gb patch installed etc. The game has always been buggy and crash prone for me across multiple PCs and windows versions though so I'm used to fiddling with it and saving often. Its always felt like Biowares least stable game to me, with Mass Effect 2 being almost as crash prone as it (again for me ymmv). ME2 got fixed up with legendary edition at least and runs a lot smoother now, a DAO remaster would be wonderful but I doubt we'll ever get it. As far as replaying the older games its what I did off and on for most of the year since there wasn't a lot of new releases this year that interested me. I didn't get finished with inquisition before Veilguard launched though but I will say that it probably made me feel disapointed about veilguard in the beginning. I do like the game and am having fun especially once it opens up after the intro stuff but theres just this lingering feeling of what I wish it could of been in the back of my head. Personall ythe onl gam et ogiv em etroubl erunning wa sAndromeda and whils tI did hav eproblems wi thVeilguard the yewer mor m yold PC no tbeing powerful enough rathe rtha n Veilguard itself I'm hopeful it'll run muc hbette ron m ynew PC. I stood at the steps to the Eluvian with Morrigan this morning, saying farewell to the Warden. Origins took me roughly a month to get through with all the DLCs (except Chronicles, don't care for that one) and doing all origin stories,
I'll meet Hawke in Kirkwall this evening, where the second phase of the Dragon Age Mega Playthrough gets under way.
Way things are going it might well be February, or even March before I even touch Veilguard.

I did a full replay of the series AND read the books and comics in chronological order, leading up the DAVs release. 2024 was definitely the Dragon Age for me It made all the lore reveals very satisfying when they happened in DAV since I was up to speed with everything in the universe. Even the passing mentions of the comic and book characters in codex’s was a small joy.

I started an Origins run after beating Veilguard and today I just barely made a new Inquisitor. Honestly I want to get back into Mass Effect but I can't turn off Dragon Age mode.

I was going to until I heard news about Veilguard. The more I heard the less I was interested in the older games. I would rather not be reminded of how amazing they were only to be disillusioned by Veilguard. And now that the horse has left the barn, the old games are all that I have left. So yes, I'll be playing the trilogy thoroughly and hoping that Dragon Age falls into the hands of properly managed writers who are talented enough and care enough to do it justice.

With the 5 or 6 playthroughs I'll probably get in of Veilguard this year I'll probably get to it eventually just need to get the gumption to buy 2 on the PC and see if I still have access to Origins.
