No, it's not the game, but there's not much other news.  "A “Mass Effect” TV series is officially in development at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety has learned exclusively. Daniel Casey is set to write and executive produce the adaptation. Karim Zreik will executive produce under his Cedar Tree Productions banner, with Ari Arad and EA’s Michael Gamble also executive producing. The production studio is the same one that did Daredevil for Netflix, which has me a bit more optimistic, which is not to say that Amazon won't have a big influence. And even then it's always a gamble. Making a good TV show is a small miracle. When Witcher was announced, I was optimistic because the production studio had made The Expanse, but then I saw they also did the direct-to-DVD Scorpion King movies and The Mummy with Tom Cruise. So hit and miss! We'll have to wait and see.

If they stay miles away from the trilogy crew, there’s a tiny chance they can make something interesting. Keep the story tight, focus on quality dialogue, tell new stories with new characters, and maybe throw in a tasteful reference to the games.
I’m upset that this is getting made, but it is, so I hope they don’t do it lazily.

The only Marvel Netflix shows that didn't suck ass was seasons 1 and 2 of Jessica Jones and season 2 of Luke Cage the rest were boring as hell at best and so-called "mature" edge lord bullshit that was so fucking graphic and gore that it became immature. I wouldn't work on a Mass Effect TV show, movie, live action or animated, because of having to deal with the fucking haters you will get their panties into a twist if that's not a literal adaption and don't understand that characters like Garrus, Wrex, and Tali are expensive and time consuming to do at all and even more so to them right. 10 episodes per season will just kill the show. Streaming shows need 22 episodes like good TV shows. This 8-10 hour movie cut up into parts is stupid.

Don’t know what the current chatter about it is, though. IMHO it's the blueprint on how to do a Mass Effect live action TV show right. I still think more episodes would be needed though for character development/universe building/drama/action and the occasional offbeat episodes. I stand by my earlier commit that the 10-episode count is hurting, if not killing, a lot of these shows because you're just making a boring 10-hour movie and cutting it up into 10 one-hour boring parts. The LONG wait between seasons with some stretching for years in some cases is not helping either. That kills momentum and makes it harder (for me anyway) to stay invested in the show because I forget about it and have moved on to other shows that I like.

I know amazon prime has a record of making terrible show based of popular books, movies, and games. But i am hoping that the Mass Effect show has a faithful adaptation.

I'm so mixed on this because of the track record on these shows. Fallout was good, I enjoyed it, it felt like Fallout. Rings of Power is trash, it's an insult to Tolkiens work. Arcane is damn amazing from Netflix, Witcher started nice but went downhill fast. Halo was something I had looked forward to since I was a kid and god damn did they just butcher it! So, I'm like really worried already.  Honestly they shouldn't touch Shepards story, just do something in the world. It would be so easy to still mention Shepard but not specify their first name or even gender. Like just something like "Ah yes the Commander Shepard did this and that and said this, what a remarkable person they are for achieving all these things!" Can be kept vague so easy and then not touch the canon more than that. |

I liked the Fallout Show, too.
About the Masseffect Show. I hope it is nothing with Shepard, because i think if Shepard is part of the Show it is doomed from the start.
There are so many choices in the Trilogie and everyone has there own imagination how Shepard should be. If Shepard will be in the Show they have to canonize Shepard and that will piss many Fans off.
And MAssEffect Fans are very vocal

I heard the Warhammer 40K amazon prime series is in trouble. Apparently Amazon is pressuring the WH40K creators to alter the lore. I never played a WH40K game nor read any books. But apparently long time fans such as Henry Cavil are pissed with Amazon. Henry Cavil is so pissed that he's threatening to walk away from the show. I thought after the success of the Fallout series that Amazon found the winning formula. But apparently their still willing to change lore that has been established for decades.

this seemingly has a chance of well actually being made, but we'll see...
After all I still have my San Diego ComicCon Mass Effect giveaways (it was an Xbox game, a shirt and a small poster in case you were wondering) somewhere in a dusty box from over a decade ago when they announced the Mass Effect movie with Legendary Pictures...
Anyway if it gets made - my wish is that they don't retell the Shepard story from the trilogy.
Don't mind if it's a prequel with or without a Shepard or something during the trilogy, but without Shepard and a focus on other characters.

These adaptations are always best when they tell their own story in the universe rather than attempt to adapt a game (Or whatever alternate timeline nonsense the Halo show was doing) First I’m hearing about this, but I’ll be interested to hear more.

ME TV show. Femshep is Shepard. Conrad Verner is her lover/husband. Oleg Petrovsky will fill the role Anderson had in the trilogy. Shepard's mother will fill the role Hackett had in the trilogy. Cerberus is Earth's military. Udina is human councilor. Ashley Williams, Jacob Taylor, Miranda Lawson, will be the straring squadmates. Throughout the show, Dagg, Javik, Mordin, Kal'Reeger, Garrus, and a few more aliens will be recruited. The crew of the ship is Steve Cortez will be the pilot. Samantha will be the comms officer. Karin Chakwas is the ship's doctor. Ken and Gabby, Rupert Gardner, will be part of the crew. Not only will Javik be a squadmate, but the asari expert. That's right, no asari in the tv show.
