I’m curious. For those that would want a Shepard show: what would you want to see from it?
Personally, I struggle to see the appeal. We have the aforementioned issue of it being “Amazon’s Shepard” rather than yours, but also we’d have to see their takes on the squad mates… and there seems to be more potential for disappointment than joy there imo.

Mass Effect's a space opera, it's in my opinion much more suited to big films than an expensive television show.

I am curious what time period it would cover. Would it be during or shortly after the first contact war? Would it be pre trilogy or concurrent with it?

I've been curious about the same thing, but as I said before - they really can't do the Trilogy without opening up a massive can of worms. Their best bet is to go either pre-trilogy, perhaps even when Anderson was pushed to be a Spectre. I also threw out the First Contact War, but I know this isn't as popular; so I though that their best and safest bet is to do Andromeda as the setting. This way, they can do whatever they want without needing direct oversight from BioWare.

There is alot of history they can cover in that post first contact war period. Saren getting slowly indoctrinated by Sovereign, Anderson's N7 career and N7s in general (could even do some Alec Ryder stuff as well). Obviously TIM and Cerberus etc... One thing they shouldn't do is a show about Shepard or anything that could conflict with the timeline of the games.

One thing they shouldn't do is a show about Shepard or anything that could conflict with the timeline of the games. It's interesting because a lot of the articles I've read talking about this list reasons why it needs to be Shep focused, and why it shouldn't at the same time. I'm leaning more towards not Shep-focused, because it will just conflict too much. Not even trilogy-adjacent; just stay away from the trilogy as much as possible for everyone's own good. It's why it worked for Fallout - they could do their own thing (with heavy oversight from Bethesda). The people behind TLoU were incredibly faithful to the game, which is why that also worked.
I like the idea of a show focusing on Anderson and adding in bits of Saren getting indoctrinated, maybe throw in Alec a little, some Cerberus bits here and there - Anderson and Kaylee would be a great series. But, I think this would still require oversight by BioWare, and I doubt Amazon wants that...but if they were smart, they'd do so, since it worked for Fallout. If they want no oversight, then Andromeda is the way to go - it's a giant sandbox for them to do whatever they'd like.

I've done many ME playthroughs and created many different types of Shepard, so I don't care if a ME show or movie did "their" version. It doesn't take away from my experiences playing the game.

A Mass Effect TV series probably ditches the Shep times to avoid contentious opinions. Plus, It's a TV show = different audience. This implies a low tech procedural show, which may work best. Think Castle + NCIS format with some pew-pew weapons so as not to scare the newbie TV audience.
So a low budget. A core group with weekly guests. We'll have the drama, mystery, action and interpersonal banter. I'm thinking a six episode series and go from there.
Perhaps they may go for a HALO format. Though, that series lasted what two seasons?
