Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer Beta (cancelled)

Shoot! My bad, sorry. I forgot to mention Ubisoft allowed both videos and screenshots to be posted on social media sites like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter Xbox etc.
I just forgot to mention videos since I don't have a Youtube account, set up, it must not have occurred to me.

Seriously though, I'm a stickler for rules- So I wouldn't break the Terms of Agreement, for anybody. Sorry BSN family!

I suppose they could make beta testers sign an NDA or something, but that doesn't physically stop people. Just threatens legal action or whatnot, I think.

Yeah. Companies can't force people to abide by their NDAs and there are many ways to get around them, but the threat of legal action (or being fired in the case of employees) is enough to keep the vast majority of people in line.

Perhaps some testing they've been doing has led to some tweaks they want to make.

In theory, a beta is to test and/or stress test a game, not a demo to show it off to all and sundry.

The line between beta and demo is mightily fuzzy as publishers have used both terms to describe both things.

A while back when I finished this "Beacon" questionnaire and realized it's for console-only, I was like:

Annoyed Human: Come on, let me in! Aria's expecting me, ugh!
Elcor Bouncer: Annoyed: If she were expecting you, you'd be inside.
Annoyed Human: You've let 10 people in while I've been standing here!
Elcor Bouncer: Uncaring: They were console players.

watermarks. also, if its anything like damp, most mp stuff (e.g. abilities) can be overridden at launch. most changes made from beta feedback wouldnt require new patches

They already said on twitter that we would not be getting a beta in the same way that we got one for ME3.

I have no doubt that they've been doing focus groups and tests behind closed doors for months regarding the MP. I just have a very hard time believing that they would scrap the tech test they've been talking about, taking signups for, and generally hyping up for months without a word to anyone who registered for it.

No, they do it via EA access or whatitcalled, right?
That's where you pay to playtest their games. It's some kind of practice becoming strangely popular.
Frontier does this e.g. with Elite Dangerous - they don't even sugarcoat it 'earlye accesse" it's just a beta you have to fucking pay for. Early access my ass.

If they have potentially been doing focus groups and closed tests after there was a giant sign-up, what makes you think that means they scrapped the tech test or that nobody who registered from it received word? For all we know, there could have been one or several going on unbeknowst to us because if there WERE any NDAs involved, it's not like anyone not accepted in would know. You signed up, I signed up, Billy Bob signed up, and Sally Sue signed up. It's possible, maybe, that Billy and Sally were selected for some sort of beta test, signed an NDA or other type of "sworn to secrecy" gaming Illuminati sort of thing, and you and I would never be the wiser. Like a Fight Club sort of thing... first rule of Fight Club and all that.

Just my thoughts. Yeah, maybe hyping some big "tech test" makes it sound like some sort of big beta where lots of people might recognize each other in it as a sort of stress test. But maybe we're wrong? Really no way of knowing one way or the other.
