Hi everyone,
So I am talking here about the story once it kicks off in the Helios cluster rather than why did we leave, how did we leave etc etc. There are already lots of threads on that and I'd be interested in knowing their explanation because
1. Mass effect engine design didn't allow travel for long periods of time without discharging or your ship explodes
However, it does make sense that if Sovereign learned about this non-secret project called the Andromeda initiative in which species could leave the galaxy beyond the influence of the reapers, then that would be an uncontrollable factor in their galactic experiment to curtail the advancement of organic life, thus why he tried to initiate the citadel mass rely in ME1 to prevent this and cull this cycle.
Anyway, they travel to Andromeda, the year is around the 2750s-2800s.
Piecing together the trailers so far:
The learn about something called the remnant. What exactly it is a remnant of ( an ancient empire?) is not entirely clear. They also encounter the Khet.
They learn of vaults constructed by the remnant and discover one either on a golden world, which are one of the worlds designated for Arc colonisation and detected with long range sensors from the Milky Way as described by the AndroI founder or discover one on a random world.
The purpose of the vault is not known, it does, however, produce artificial gravity and possibly is part computer, part organic, or at least there are plants which are inexplicably growing in the vault without water and sunlight.
It is one of many vaults throughout the Andromeda galaxy and they may be interconnected as shown by the display in the live play through.
They inadvertently activate a vault and somehow they know its dangerous. Structures start shooting out from the ground on the planets surface and producing an energy field and gravity starts to warp. Then the trailer cuts to a dark world.
So is it possible the vaults created these planets? Produced a massive artifical gravity well and caused raw material from space to clump together to form a planet. Then somehow seeded these planets with life generated by the vault? Like some massive terraforming machine.
If that is the case, it means
1. The remnant are way beyond the technology of the Milky Way races, even the protheon and
2. Why would they create these planets are at least, hide a vault underground? Maybe its camouflage? Maybe it was unintentional and the vault is a highly advanced space station that inadvertantly caused a planet to form around it over millions or billions of years due to an aritifical gravity sink.
One of the Arcs was damaged or destroyed in the trailer and father ryder was lost or killed making younger ryder, the new pathfinder.
Thoughts?
