I was under the impression that all four, species arks went to their designated habitats to off-load colonists and settle 'golden' worlds. Meanwhile the Nexus sets up shop some place else, a location akin to the Citadel, the heart of this new civilization we are building. The Nexus has a multi-species staff that I think will operate like the Citadel Council, away from the home systems, but available to each species that it represents. That was the plan. It didn't go well for Hyperion, it seems. We don't know why it goes wrong, but Kett* aggression is one possibility. (Astronomical dangers are honestly even higher in probability, but maybe not as likely in a VG.) If the Kett attack Hyperion, depending upon where it drops out of FTL, I'm not sure they can be blamed. Imagine if a troop transport blinked into view on the White House lawn. I hope the the Kett are portrayed in a complex, interesting fashion. I don't want them to be just an enemy to shoot, though someone must fill that role. If it ultimately comes down to "us or them", I'm cool with that. I just want it to be an interesting, two-sided story. Also, those giant, behemoth-sized creatures that we keep seeing Ryder fighting? I think they might be Kett brutes. They appear to be wearing bands around their wrists, and their skin is very reminiscent of the other Kett we've seen. The Kett seem to come in a variety of forms, matching different functions. Pretty cool. Maybe the one with the "halo head" was some type of hive queen? * It appears to be Kett instead of Khet, now. I preferred the latter.

I think there might be other problems for Hyperion then the Kett. It seems that it reached the wrong area of the cluster, the reason is a mystery. Agreed on the Kett, and it seems it's Bioware's opinion as well. Hopefully they succeed in their intention.

Combat experience is good and all but they really should have checked if Alec Ryder had a sense of direction before they made him Pathfinder.

I preferred the latter. It would be interesting if the Khet had a society where they are born into roles similar to like, say, ants. The bulky and big ones serve military roles. The slimmer ones are scientists and leaders. It'd be a neat society and culture to explore, It seems promising that they want us to be able to empathise with the Khet and I am very curious about them. Still not entirely sold on their design, though. I like aspects of the design but some of the way it is put together, I'm not so fond of.
I remember an explaination of an alien race that I found rather fascinating. It was a race that had attacked Earth and killed a number of humans but it turned out that to them this was nothing more than tapping humanity politely on the shoulder to ask them if they'd mind moving over a bit so they could sit down as well. This was because theirs were a hivemind and because of how it worked, loss of life even on that scale wasn't considered noteworthy. They didn't realize the humans they killed were individuals capable of thought and feeling because they'd mistakenly assumed humans would be just like them. This was likely because they couldn't imaging such a different way of saptient life existing. When they realized their mistake, they redrew from Earth and were incredible remorseful but because of physiological differences, they were unable to communicate with humans and explain what had happened including that they had no intention of ever attacking again. Humanity didn't know this and so kept on expecting another attack, another war and potential extinction. The alien race was nearly wiped out because of this misunderstanding.
Note: I'm going to keep on calling them the Khet or Khett as well. I like it more and it's become a habit by now.

I preferred the latter. That's one of few things which still fuel my interest in game's plot. And Bioware keeps teasing me with these Imagine reading x-com esque Kett reports about this newly discovered Covenant. Them trying to figure the purpose of such journey and role of each species. Only I is excited? Ok then.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Scott is the guy on the left. Liam is the guy in the middle. Sara is the female on the right. If that is Sara on the right, is her hair blonde? I only ask since the female in the other trailer, after waking up, has dark hair. Sara is the biotic bubbly blonde that was mentioned in the leaks. The woman appearing in the trailer waking up from Cryo-Stasis is FemRyder.

Whether it's him or not. The trilogy certainly has pushed minority statuses onto the male characters (Anderson, Udina, Jacob, Vega, Cortez, Kai Leng) a lot more than onto the female characters. The only non-white female character was Traynor I think. And of course that was fine, because she wasn't available to BroShep anyway. Kasumi! ^^

If they give us yet another bald female companion I'll kick a koala. The Koala would probably ruin your face before you even had the chance. Now I understand how they defeated a garrison of Stormtroopers on Endor. So, on the topic of this young runner and Liam, I don't think they're the same guy. I just started truly watching the trailer, pausing and looking at things in a detailed way, and already I'm seeing that the bodies don't match. The guy that is presumably Liam has a thick, wide body. This runner has a lean body. Pair that with my earlier line of thought that Liam would be slightly older and more experienced than the twins, as a former police officer, and I just don't see it. My opinion is that these humies are just random youths on a recruitment poster.

There were some, both reporters (Emily and al-Jilani) and other npcs, like Brooks. Brooks: So pretty, but so bad. I guess I hadn't thought about the ethnicity/gender split of NPCs in too much detail. My favorite, some would say "canon", FemShep was non-white. The unwanted progressive lightening of her complexion and change in her hair texture was a great annoyance to me. (It paired with Hale's over-acting and ME3's gender-specific 'glitches' to ruin FemShep for me.) I'm hopeful that we'll be able to create more realistic and varied non-white PCs in MEA. DAI's CC was a small step in the right direction, but it still needed a lot more work and far more options for characters of every imaginable sort. Hopefully, MEA delivers the goods.
