As far as I knew only ME1 was on the backwards compatible list. I've tried ME3 before and that certainly wasn't.

I just tried and it didn't work when I put disc 2 in but it started the install when I used disc 1.

Is there any way to transfer saves, do you know?

Yeah, which would be weird. I mean you put a disc in, it reads the disc to know what game it is then it downloads the game as if you had the digital version anyway. If it can do that you'd think it wouldn't have issue doing the same thing when launching the game.

Hopefully it sorts it's self out.

I installed the game and dlc via the disc and transferred my saves off the 360 to the cloud. Seems to work fine.

I really must get back to playing it - I'm only half way through my first NG+ and I just realised, looking at the date on the save file, that it's been over a year since I last played!

Once you install the DLC via the Manage game option all content you own is available to play. Installing the game does not automatically install the DLC though so you have to go into the Manage Game option to install it manually (thankfully with an install all option)
