So Mac Walters confirmed that the ARKS left sometime during ME2-ME3. We also know from the AMA reddit Q&A with Joe Juba that "Most" of the ARK's inhabitants don't know about the Reaper threat, which could mean a few of them do.
If they left right before the Reaper war, wouldn't the Reapers be on their way in? And notice them trying to leave the galaxy, aka, lazer them up before they could get away?
Many of us speculate that Cerberus has a thing or two to do with this grand Milky Way Exit.
WHAT IF.......
Reaper tech the Illusive Man stole from the Collector base at the end of ME2 is used on the Nexus and ARKs, so that they are recognized as Reapers so they don't get attacked and can easily make their way to Andromeda?
Far reaching, I know.
But what do you think?

Ships in FTL can't be detected because all modern detection methods operate at the speed of light.
And even if the Arks could be detected, there's not a lot Reapers can do except pursue them until they drop out of FTL. Attempting to fire their weapons in FTL mode will end very badly for them.

Totally unnecessary. Stumbling into the Reapers in space would be like stumbling upon a specific grain of sand out of all the grains on all the beaches of the world. It's not going to happen.
I'm still firmly in the camp of "don't involve the Reapers at all," especially early on in the plot. I just don't think it would aid the narrative.
