On the Andromeda Initiative site where it says your username, under "Authenticated User" are the characters "KELT-2AB". KELT-2AB is a real life "Hot Jupiter" planet located ~360 light-years away in the constellation Auriga. Auriga is a bit interesting in that it contains the galactic anticenter, and has some mythology that is suggestive of the arks. Auriga is the charioteer, who grasps the reins of the chariot in his right hand, and a goat and its two kids in his left. The most popular interpretation of Auriga is that he is Erichthonius, a legendary king of Athens. Erichthonius was the son of Hephaestus the god of fire, better known by his Roman name of Vulcan. He became the first person to harness four horses to a chariot, in imitation of the four-horse chariot of the Sun (the quadriga), a bold move which earned him the admiration of Zeus and assured him a place among the stars. Auriga contains the sixth-brightest star in the sky, known as Capella, a Roman name meaning ‘she-goat’. Ptolemy in the Almagest described this star as being on the charioteer’s left shoulder. According to Aratus it represented the goat Amaltheia, who suckled the infant Zeus on the island of Crete and was placed in the sky as a mark of gratitude, along with the two kids she bore at the same time. It was this goat whose horn, after accidentally being broken off by Zeus, was transformed into the Cornucopia, or "horn of plenty", which would be filled with whatever its owner desired. This goat symbolism dates back to Mesopotamia as a constellation called GAM, representing a scimitar or crook. The crook of Auriga stood for a goat-herd or shepherd. So basically what I'm saying is Erichthonius is DadRyder, the harnessing four horses to a chariot is the four arks, he has two kids (Sis and Bro Ryder), and MomRyder is the goat who also represented a shepherd a.k.a Shepard is your mom (not really but I thought it was an interesting connection anyways). Meet the Ryder family:

I think you may have overthought this, but it's kind of cool that you did. Also, you could very well be correct about all of it. Nice. 👀
Edit: There was supposed to be a "mind blown" gif in this post, but it's impossible to have a strong gif game when posting from mobile devices.

I was just curious if there was any meaning to KELT-2Ab and it led down the rabbit hole. I do wonder if there was some reason they put that there or if it's all just coincidence, though.

I like it.
Ryder family mystery solved before the game came out. The Bio writers researched Greek mythos and more to weave, hopefully, a consistent story and backgrounds.

Nah, not coincidence ... the "trick" is to see if some smart fan decodes their little Easter egg.
If the devs are lurking *ahem* ...
They probably are letting whoever came up with the reference know that a fan has discovered it.
Well done.

Wow. Nice catch there, thanks for taking the time to figure this out, and share. Maybe Alec found some advanced technology from explorers from Andromeda while pathing relays in the Milkyway? Thus the sudden ability for us to travel such great distances? Or maybe it is a cool bit of mythology that was just thrown in by the devs for the inquisitive to find?

Agree that mythology part is probably overthinking, but the actual location could mean something. Pretty sure we've never being there during the trilogy, but it something related to AI is positioned there.

I think the mythology part is the only real part that makes sense, not so much in some kind of bizar tie in or whatever but games have a tendency to base some things off those tails to some extent. Good chance the whole naming of ships and all that revolves around this and that's about it. maybe it's because that planet is important somehow to the intro to the story and that's why in game they named things the way they did? I dunno. Also, lol at the Shepard being the mother. I know you mean it as a joke, but on the off chance someone reads this and 'actually' think that's somehow the easter egg or real information here... Shepard would of been 5-6 years old at the 'birth' of the RyTwins. So.. no, just no.

I like it. I don't think it's that overthought, it probably went the other way around. A writer got inspired by greek mythology and then someone looked up stuff related to it and found KELT-2AB. It's not that strange, we tend to name a lot of things after ancient mythology.
