I've almost rushed through the game in the 10-hr trial and I gotta say, Liam has grown on me, but I still don't really "like" him. I understand why others do though. I was really excited about Liam before launch but some of his lines are just  that's the writing department's fault, but still. I'll try to romance him if I decide to buy the full version. |

Started new Ryder for an insanity run. Had one already started with a Sara that romanced Jaal and as soon as I got the 3 LI achievement unlocked, I dropped her and haven't picked her up since. So I started a new one and I really wanted to use the ponytail on her, but it just didn't look right and it kept having animation issues. Like it was sticking out looking like I could stab someone with it or it was bend and didn't straighten out for a long time. It can look really good in some scenes, not so good in others.  So I gave her a new hairstyle and moved/lightened her scar a bit. Also, I finally got the beer scene! First time, yay! Love his attitude  |

Yeah, some of his lines are a bit cringe worthy, especially in the nomad. But then I remember that he is a early 20 something man and remember the stupid shit I said when I was his age. Lol, I'm getting old (I need like a walking stick emoji or something) Even though BW didn't put a whole lot of effort in the animation of his romance, they did put in effort in the writing. He is a different man when he is with Ryder alone. You can see it in Armory scene, where they're not alone and instead of being his sweet self, he has to tease her (it's still adorable), but when they're alone he acting more mature. At least that's what I think. * Also just a heads up. If you're already having issues with him it might get worse later on with his LM. That's what most people that don't like him are hung up on. |

It didn't bother me either because I knew that starting companions are scripted to defer to the player and build up their confidence. So I interpreted everything Liam did at the onset as a way for the player to establish authority ("Hey, calm down and stop shooting!") and to also to be the guy asking questions so the player doesn't have to ("What was contact protocol again?"). The more the main plot moved forward, the less Liam needed to do that. |
