I don't have any linguistically sophisticated reason, I just don't like how it sounds, what I hear of it in the games. Now you know how extremely stuffy Brits feel when hearing it spoken by everyone else... even with other Brits, half the time!  (Personally, I think we're jealous of how we'll never sound as cool as the Scottish, Irish or Welsh)  Oh, I don't know. It may be my 4-5% of British genes talking, but an English accent is the best, err, English accent. Much like a West Cuban accent is the only proper Spanish accent, and I swear I'm not biased. Scots sound hilarious. I cannot hear a Scottish accent without bursting into laughter. It's the English-speaking equivalent of a Latin American accent. It's like, why do you sound so sing-songy all the time? DISCLAIMER: Nothing but love and respect to all individuals from Scotland and Latin America  |

If this isn't Liam (sad puppy eyes from my side), that makes me wonder how old he is going to be. I'm hoping not older than late 30s. Makes sense to bring young people to Andromeda. However, necessary skill and experience might trump youth in certain situations. What's with all the Idris Elba hysteria lately? He does nothing for me. Not his voice, not his face. Not that big on gruffy voices. The only British actor whose voice turns me to jelly is Cumberbatch. I'm still scarred from Fenris... as much as I love Emery, I don't think I want him to voice another companion again. Ever. Wait, if that's not Liam, is Liam at least still confirmed to be black? I'm going to be disappointed if he's revealed to be a blond white guy. (I've romanced 3 of them already in DA.) |

I know it's a bit early to speculate this, but Liam is the guy that I'm leaning towards so far. British accent? Ex-Cop? Cool hair? Glasses/goggles? As long as he's not too FF-looking, I'm in! Of course, there is slim pickings for potential male LI's so far. From the lady side, we've got PeeBee, Cora, Vetra, Dr. Lexi who all seem like they could have potential. From the gentleman side, we've got Liam (who we haven't even seen yet) and.......um, the salarian pilot? Drack? Yeah, not too much to pick from so far. |

He was also confirmed to be young, of a fairly similar age as the Ryders, so no worries Kappa Neko . Those promotional images were always that: promotional images. They were never supposed to show us our protagonists and crew. We will see Liam at some point. I'm wondering about this apparently wild hair, now that we've seen his character icon. I hope they put nearly as much effort into the CC options. I'd like to finally be able to create a black woman with hair. What I have in mind would be equally popular for characters of all ethnicities. Oh, well. Back to Liam... They seem to be determined to dangle him like a carrot. I hope it doesn't backfire. It's obnoxious when the online "fans" turn on a character because they don't like this or that characteristic. |

Other then the icons in the trailer for squadmates are 5, so the one with the goggles is likely Liam already, there's another proof if you watch the trailer around 4:20-4:21. It seems to be the initial area (you can see Liam with Sara two times in the trailer) and in the combat part there's only one squadmate icon, the one with the goggles. It might be the confirmation on the icon representing Liam.

Maddening I can't see his hair yet! If you can pry your eyes off of Ryder in this scene (not an easy task), he can be seen using tech barriers and throwing lightning. He seems to set up the tech explosion on that Hydra mech you mentioned, and then hauls ass out of the blast radius. That might imply decent AI, which makes me happy. I know Cora is in this scene, but it's almost as if they kept her intentionally invisible. Would you do that to us, BioWare?  She's over off the side of the platform, where we first entered. I think I see her use biotic powers a time or two, but it's hard to be certain. I enjoyed this video, but now I'd like some more focused videos in which we can see a bit more about the various, more specific features. I'd really like a real name for PeeBee and to see Liam and Cora, finally. |

I enjoyed this video, but now I'd like some more focused videos in which we can see a bit more about the various, more specific features. I'd really like a real name for PeeBee and to see Liam and Cora, finally. What if PeeBee has some kind of secret in her past and that's why she uses that nickname? I'm hoping that "PB", since it has been confirmed to be initials, is the devs' nickname for her, rather than an in-game nickname. I recall feeling that this was implied, but I don't have a reference or quote ready at hand to cite. PB, or PeeBee, just isn't very immersive. I suspect she has a more setting-appropriate name. I'm expecting to one day learn that PB was short for "Perky Blue", or somesuch, and that she was dubbed such during VA recording sessions. |

I have a feeling that Bioware's a bit hesitant to display human faces. Nearly everyone had negative to moderate (to wholly terrible) views on the facial animations and overall appearance for humans. Maybe they're still tweaking our Liam. But I'm dying, dying, dying to see his concept art. I've found that most of the time, the concept art is about 99.9% better than the final result (even the Kett's early concept were bad-ass and refreshingly..."alien").

I mean, the ridges at the top looked like turian ridges, not hair, and Vetra has a visor...  Nope? It was immediately obvious it was Liam? O-kay... Anyway, it reminds me of Quicksilver. The fact that Liam's mouth seems to be open like "Yaaaaaah! Charge!" implies he'll be a rather fun character, at least I hope.Also, side note: I'm kind of sad that Liam is becoming a popular name. I know it's always been well known in the UK, but growing up no one knew it in the US (it's my middle name and I use it). It was kind of nice that it was an uncommon name (really only Liam Neeson made it known at all). I remember just a few years ago totally stumping some people by trying to get them to guess it and only told them that it started with "L". They had about a dozen guesses and then gave up. Even after I said that a famous A list actor had the same name. Now it's the 3rd most popular baby boy name in 2016. Boo. I can attest that it's no longer an uncommon name, at least in North America. For my whole (not overly long) life, in fact. Sorry your name is losing its uniqueness  I understand, since I like having a unique name. ME has this thing wherein the male human sidekick tends to be rather bland (Kaidan, Jacob, James). It is entirely too early to tell, but I am getting an Alistair vibe from Liam at the moment. Anyway, it does seem like they're really hiding Cora, since her icon was present during most of the gameplay but I don't recall seeing her. And apparently she has hair, not a buzzcut as some were thinking. Hopefully she's cool, although I doubt she'll be the lesbian option since she appears to be the only female human so far. Bi maybe. Hopefully Liam is bi, he sounds cool and I don't want anyone to miss out. |

Apparently I'm terrible at seeing non-photorealistic art or something I still have trouble seeing it even after you explained. The fact that there is still a fair bit of space around that negative space doesn't help. Glad me seeing Vetra was understandable, though To be honest, I just don't get that kind of artstyle, and I don't like it. I didn't like it in the Keep, and I don't like it here. In the original trilogy, we just had an ingame picture of our squadmates, not stylized in any way. Here, it's some minimalist drawing. Seems like a downgrade to me. Like, Cora is just hair and lips... |

Apparently I'm terrible at seeing non-photorealistic art or something I still have trouble seeing it even after you explained. The fact that there is still a fair bit of space around that negative space doesn't help. Glad me seeing Vetra was understandable, though To be honest, I just don't get that kind of artstyle, and I don't like it. I didn't like it in the Keep, and I don't like it here. In the original trilogy, we just had an ingame picture of our squadmates, not stylized in any way. Here, it's some minimalist drawing. Seems like a downgrade to me. Like, Cora is just hair and lips... I believe they did say it wasn't final. I kinda like the simplicity though, Jacobs dismembered head floating on my left butt cheek and Miranda on the other was both lol worthy and a bit cringey. |

I had never noticed any such uncomfortable proximity, but I'll have to take a look on my next time through ME2. I don't really care, either way. Floating heads were cool, and icons are fine too. I did like ME2's minimalist GUI. I don't like when too much unnecessary clutter is on-screen. I assume I'll have options to customize the clutter. |

She's over off the side of the platform, where we first entered. I think I see her use biotic powers a time or two, but it's hard to be certain.
But please tell me someone can see why. I mean, the ridges at the top looked like turian ridges, not hair, and Vetra has a visor...
