which milky way species do you expect to rise high in the social hierarchy? Who goes down on the social hierarchy? Great points. Although I'd change one thing. It's humans who would consider asari as potential equals. People with masculine characteristics shine under dangerous circumstances. In ME universe, humans are decisive and quick to act. Asari are diplomatic indecisive sissies. Their kind thrives when civilization is already established. All that reflective introspection can get Asari whacked. The huge demand for Krogan explorers is telling. Androma IS a galactic wild west. It's not even a matter of better or worse -- it's unavoidable. Bioware is insisting the Arks departed prior to widespread knowledge of the Reaper threat. So consider the political tensions between the species at that point in the trilogy's history. It's absurd to assume krogans and salarians will get along. For asari to consider humans equals and partners. So that's the one-liner that sums it up: A huge retcon would be needed for all the species in the Arks to get along and cooperate with each other.
