Let's face it, the other poll is a clusterfart, too many missing options and includes races ALREADY confirmed for Andromeda.
*DISCLAIMER* I haven't spotted a Turian in any Andromeda vids so far, that's why they're included here.
Now, here's your chance to save TWO races from certain extinction. It's often too hard to choose just one. You have built your own mini-Ark and you have the resources to bring over enough specimens from two species to Andromeda. Choose wisely, you only get one shot at this.
Which species will you choose to save, and why?
I'm going for Protheans and Yagh. Protheans: because the likelihood of them being master trolls is very high, and time will pass much faster with them around. Yagh: because they are absolute beasts and would make an awesome squadmate for particularly dicey situations, especially when you're dealing with a huge snarling creature like that thing in the Andromeda trailer. And they have the capacity for intelligence and reasoning as indicated by the Shadow Broker himself. They're far more effective than Krogan. If Roman Reigns is a Krogan, then Brock Lesnar is a Yagh. I know who I'd pick to back me up.

Shifty Cow ... because I'm shifty ... though not a cow.
Won't that also require Shifty Bulls?
Or are Shifty Cows like Asari?
Who can mate with Pyjaks, Thresher Maws and Gas Bags?
Asking for a friend.

Shifty Cows might very well be like Sony's Godzilla, asexual and born pregnant They got lots of hands as well, can be trained for manual labor if the Keepers cannot be imported. Thresher Maws can be used offensively, seeing how we have some giant monsters to take out in Andromeda, and Pyjaks (although considered to be vermin) can be useful in recon situations. They're small and display at least "some" intelligence which implies they can be trained to sneak around undetected.

As for the two races I would bring, I chose the Geth and the Rachni for three reasons. First is I find both species really fascinating and would like the games to expand on them. Second is I see a lot of storytelling potential with both being a part of a joint effort with species who have been enemies with them in the past. Third is among the species of the Milky Way I see them as the best choices for this kind of endeavor. Between the Geth being able to handle the ships as the organics sleep to the Rachni being able to do in days that would take us weeks to both being great for defense both in strengths and numbers and in exploration since they can go where no other species of our cycle can, they have boundless usefulness for the Andromeda Initiative.

Batarians and Vorcha for me...two races I enjoyed playing in Multiplayer. Turians are already 99.99% confirmed.

Batarians, because I was disappointed they didn't delve more into them the first time around. And Gas Bags because they are harmless.

They lost the First Contact War to Baby's First Starfleet. They slapped a scope on a grenade launcher and called it a sniper rifle. Their signature assault rifle, the Phaeston, is outclassed in every way by the Lancer. And one out of every four cannot even control the recoil. Turian military domination is a bad joke that no one is falling for anymore. Goodbye and good riddance.

Volus - because they control the galactic economy and we'll need lots of money to build our own Ark. Keepers - because, according to Anderson, they are massively efficient builders and they know how the Citadel works (which was originally designed to be a Mass Relay from and to dark space (i.e. outside the galaxy) ... so, with luck, we'll beat everyone to Andromeda).

I've wanted a grumpy Batarian squadmate forever, so they're in...and since I already know Turians are present I'll extend a hand to the Quarians - which I think having a race with generations of experience living in space would be particularly useful on a venture like the AI.
