Right after ME3 was released, there was an app for mobile and for PC called "The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3".
It was an interactive applet that basically had Geoff Keighley document key points during the development of the game. It was really great to read all of that and I thought that it could be really cool to have it again for the next game in the series.
Did anyone remember that app? What do you think?

Won't happen for Andromeda. The details revealed about the process of making ME3 that Geoff wrote about in the app largely contributed to the outroar over the ending. Without Final Hours of ME3 we wouldn't have seen the "Lots of speculation from everyone" notes Mac wrote that plainly revealed what a nonchalant concept-phase the ending went through.

The Final Hours had nothing to do with the uproar... it would have happened either way due to all the right and wrong reasons that are already known by now. It was also published a couple of weeks after the game was launched, and people were already complaining about the ending.

I liked it, but I think at that time such an app for a tablet was still very new and innovative. Since then stuff like that didn't really become popular, so they won't do it again. Now they'd have to ask a popular vlogger to drop by the office and make vlogs.

It was also published a couple of weeks after the game was launched, and people were already complaining about the ending. It definitely stirred up the pot. People were furious over how disappointing the ending was but also confused. The Final Hours had those interviews with Casey talking about how "Mass Effect is about if synthetics would ever rival our intelligence, and.. should we incorporate synthetics into our bodies? Things like that" and Mac talking about Tali's face being greenlighted as a stock photo if it was nothing, and Mac talking about how he cut elements out of the ending when Casey told him to.
