Well, I do. People are claiming Bioware failed "fluid" people, whatever the frick that means. It's so childish and immature. You don't see me mad over Suvi being lesbian, I always found her cute, and I'm sure many other guys do too, yet - where's the Tumblr posts, the outrage? Nowhere.
I'm still going to be loyal to bae Cora regardless.
And this shouldn't have come off as a surprise, Mass Effect, and lately - Dragon Age, are keeping away from that "everyone is Bi" fuckfest.
But hey, Cora's hair, gay-bi people apparently have the same hairstyle too therefore Cora is... everything.
Sigh.

I'll do everything I can to avoid a PeeBee/Jaal on my Coramance playthrough. I'll be jealous of my other playthroughs! D:

For those who played those 10 hours of pre-release access - is Cora useful as a squadmate? Doesn't she die too often? I mean, she has charge and nova - isn't she too much of a glass cannon? I tried to find some decent gameplay, but most players were horrible at this game, so I gave up. Uma from witcher 3 is better looking than her That was a comment from Youtube I found. At times like this, I recall one nice quote from Anders: "All I want is the right to shoot lighting at fools." Just ignore it.

Uma from witcher 3 is better looking than her That was a comment from Youtube I found. I don't mind if some people don't like her or found her not affective, but those kind of comments are just dumb. It won't be right even if they were talking about Foster.

You don't see me mad over Suvi being lesbian, I always found her cute, and I'm sure many other guys do too, yet - where's the Tumblr posts, the outrage? Nowhere. Several of the Suvi videos that have made it to YouTube actually have had gentlemen vomiting all over the comments about how unfair it is that she's gay. You can find the same on r/games and r/gaming, if you can sort through all of the wank about facial animations. I suspect people are also complaining about the sorts of limitations that s/s romance options have been under, historically, in BioWare games, compared to those for straight gentlemen especially. Broshep and bryder can stick their dick in almost everyone in their respective games; by comparison, queer romance plots are usually either with bi individuals or are shunted off to the side, out of the squad, with, implicitly, less content. Straight gentlemen might pine after Sera, Samantha, and Suvi, but gay ladies have had Cora, Cassandra, Miranda, Jack, Tali, Ashley, Morrigan, Bastila, Dawn Star, and basically every woman in The Old Republic to be sad about. (Worth pointing out: Samantha and Suvi are the only ones of those characters that aren't in the player's team. You can't take them around with you and enjoy romance-related dialogue and banter while questing. That matters, too.) Without turning it into a sterile argument about fanbase sizes or the proportion of queer people in the video-game-playing population, there's simply a lot more for queer women to be disappointed about. Does that justify outrage? Meh. Does it make it more understandable? I think that's impossible to seriously argue against. For those who played those 10 hours of pre-release access - is Cora useful as a squadmate? Doesn't she die too often? I mean, she has charge and nova - isn't she too much of a glass cannon? I tried to find some decent gameplay, but most players were horrible at this game, so I gave up. So I spent most of my 10 hours as an Infiltrator on Hardcore. Cora did seem to die more often than Liam or Vetra, but not much. I think I partially mitigated that by emphasizing Charge and her shield/health passive when leveling her, and by doing my best to micromanage her positioning, but she seems to generally have good enough survivability to be useful, especially if you go crazy priming enemies for her to detonate.

Vetra went down in my casual 'test it out, not serious' trial playthrough; I'll try higher difficulty when I'm not racing a clock. That said, Cora never went down during combat. Biggest complaint; she kept stealing my kills.

It's about not making bi/gay human squadmates since DAO. The only exception was Kaidan in ME3 and Dorian in DAI. I don't believe in so called queer code, nothing like this exist so it's not an explanation and people shouldn't use such phrases. Personally, I am disappointed she end up straight (I wanted human squadmates to be bi), I'm not gonna lie about that. But hey, there's this huuuuuge galaxy to explore!

Of course there's more anger from the queer fanbase over this, because the queer fanbase has been disappointed by this issue more in the past. Tumblr also probably isn't as mad about animations or Addison's face or whatever, like YouTube and Reddit. Those bastions of straight gentlemen make hyperbolic complaints about their issue du jour and the media (and people in general) take them seriously when crafting their clickbait articles; minorities or the marginalized do the same thing and instead the coverage leans toward "let's mock and/or dismiss this because how dare they take issue with something!" I think there are reasonable complaints to be made about both issues, and I also think that there are people who take these complaints much further than that. (Like the person who was allegedly suicidal.) A blanket dismissal of both thoughtful and thoughtless complaints about the game is unreasonable. Thought experiment: if Cora were lesbian and Suvi were straight, do you think that straight gentlemen would be getting shortchanged at all? Is giving up a squadmate romance for a non-squadmate romance a non-issue, or is it perfectly fine?

I wasn't making this about squadmates? That's not a factor I took into consideration? I couldn't care less about that. I will romance the character that has me hooked, in this case, Cora. If she wasn't part of the squad, that wouldn't change anything. If she was lesbian, of course I would be disappointed, but that's part of life, people are who they are.

Cora should have been one because of her hair, I agree. /s I've romanced Cullen and Cassandra in DA:I and all I can say it was so much better with Cassandra because she was with me on the field and all kinds of comments and jokes happened during that time. With Cullen it was just "ok". Now imagine you have only 2 characters you want to romance. One of them ends up ruined in your eyes and the other one is a lesbian so you're left with aliens you're not interested as LIs. Would you like such case scenario? I don't think so. So as I said before, it's not about "queer code" and Cora (and/or her hair) per se. It's also not a part of life, as you say. It's about BW's pattern of not making bi-squadmates even though people beg them to for years.

When I played it with a male Inquisitor, I went for Cassandra, and when the contrary, Cullen. And I felt his romance was much more engaging (Not saying Cass' isn't) and had a better conclusion. So we have different experiences here. Nothing can top Morrigan's, though. It is part of life, the world doesn't work like you want. There's no injustice here. Wanting to have a lesbian squadmate can be a fair argument when not done by degenerates, which isn't the case here. In the end, Bioware isn't failing lesbian people like many claimed with DAI but with straight one instead, the content is there for everyone. No one has it better. And that's it.

Oh, really? Is Suvi generating media coverage about her sexuality? heatst.com/gaming/outrage-after-mass-effect-character-revealed-to-be-not-gay/It's stupid. This game has the most recent balanced romance content for everyone since DAO. It's the ideal scenario. But no, let's get mad over Cora being straight, because that's so bad. These type of people think the world should bend the knee for them, and they're idiots. I would hardly call a few people on Tumblr (seriously does anyone over the age of 18 even go on that site?) "media outrage." Buuuuttt leave it to a conservative fake news site dedicated to finding the most ridiculous SJW bs on the internet and blowing it way out of proportion to say it is.

Just not everyone wants to romance aliens and everyone would love to be able to romance at least 1 squadmate. BW knows about it, but constantly refuse to give people this oppoturnity. And one studio can fail only a limited amount of times. Every single one of us has limited patience. Some of those outraged people bring fair points when they explain why they're like this, some of them don't. Not changing the fact I wouldn't cancel my pre-order even if I was 100% sure my character would end up alone.

Actually, tumblr is pretty calm right now. The outrage is on twitter ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/uYQYVMAupPAfTXFFwWlB.png) And yes, tons of 18+ go to tumblr from time to time.

Blah I'm still a little angry over the women being called "ugly" in ME: A. Especially Cora ![:ytho:](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/xiICCwovdgMxwQNmAZOU.png)

Being able to romance a squadmate is great deal to a lot of people, because the romance isn't just about the cutscenes with flirts and kiss, but there's the whole aspect of the RP. Take them with you, yell silly things like "You wounded my girlfriend", etc. You know, running in the open field with your loved ones, knowing the worlds.

It's the internet, people bitch around about everything. Cora is probably one of the best looking Bioware female companions ever.
