Curiously, I find myself on the verge on having another crack at Andromeda and was deciding between romancing Suvi again (my favourite) or Cora. However, Cora has the distinct advantage of accompanying you in every mission, so it's likely there'll be tons of interesting banter. Pity you can't romance Cora as a female, but such is life.

I'm about 6 hours into my second Andromeda run and I'm going with Cora this time. I liked her from my first game but I played a female so no dice.

I recently saw something that made me like Cora a lot more. I think she might be my favorite romance in the ME series as a whole (yeah yeah sue me), but this just had me cracking up.
I saw a video of Liam's romance (no way am I playing a female Ryder let alone romancing him of all people). Just before one of the missions. Liam makes this lame as hell joke which has female Ryder and Gil smirking and grinning like idiots. The shot cuts to Cora who rolls her eyes and is quite clearly saying "... morons.." with just her eyes and bod language.
It was great.

Cora has a really good relationship arc, and whether or not you choose to go with the *Funky Monkey* scene or the *star gazing scene* (as I call it), both are fitting depending on how you play. For me, it was the so-called star gazing scene that I thought would be the better fit for how I played my character and wanted my story to unfold. But I like Cora both as a character and squadmate. Currently I am doing two other Sara Ryder playthroughs, one romancing Peebee, the other Suvi....and I like those too.

Fun fact: the... logistics? of Cora's sex scene were intended to be emblematic of her and Ryder's relationship. They have the backdrop of the window and stars (because they're explorers); Cora's seated at a height so she's at eye level with Ryder (because they're equals) -- --and because of their position they have to hold onto and trust one another ('cause they're not just a couple, they're a team).
For the non-sexual scene: Cora spends the entire game telling Ryder "I've got your back." At the end of that scene, he's literally guarding hers π
The point being: if you know who your characters are, including who they are behind closed doors--and especially who they are to each other--a love scene's a great opportunity to show all of that without needing words. π

Mostly, because it detracts from the dynamic of the scene itself and draws the attention away from the point of the whole thing. I am generally against drawing parallels and symbolism in visual narrative. It messes up the photography, resulting in an inferior outcome. It's not kino.

Something may be going awry with the HTML on it. Right now it's looking like just something you typed, rather than a quote from Jo.
At any rate, I loved Cora's romance scenes... both of them. The only thing I didn't like about the one was the thrusting motions they put in. I just found them jarring more than romantic. I really liked the expressiveness they managed to put into Cora's face though... in both scenes.
I think degrees of symbolism permeate almost every visual art form. Cinematographers are taught to pay attention to such details. Painters have used such techniques for centuries. There were similar elements in the sex scene between Shepard and Ashley or Kaidan... and the difference inserted in the scene between Shepard and Liara). I'd be surprised if most games aren't employing such techniques on some level or another.

*Waves white flag* The ME3MP community has a tradition of challenging the players to play a match with certain setups and under certain conditions. Often it's employed for RP purposes and I want to do one about Cora's adventures on Quiet Eddy. The site I want to submit it requires an illustration for each challenge. Request: Do you have some wide (croppable to 1920x880 without much loss) image of Cora? Edit: nevermind, found exactly what I was looking for.

I was going to through some MELE gameplay footage, and I came across a random Andromeda clip in the mix, so I turned it into a GIF. Cora saving lives like its no big deal.

it must be nice when she isnβt fused into the wall past some crates and you can actually talk to her without the game bugging out half way through the first few conversations.
I gave up around the second planet and threw this dumpster fire of a game into the trash. The multiplayer was the only somewhat enjoyable part of the game and completely opposite experience of ME3. The great maneuverability with the jump pack was ruined by the clunky bullshit, enemies that rubberband and are hitscanners that will hit you from any angle even through cover, and lack of automatic mantling on surfaces you are just barely about to clear that even its contemporaries like Halo 5 had.
