Peebee's not bad as a character (I was very wrong about my initial thoughts on her). I don't know if I'd romance her as SisRyder (will do a SisRyder run - Infiltrator; and it's either her or Vetra). She's quirky (and I like that), but I think I'd still go Cora for my BroRyder over anyone else, really.

I'm not surprised by Peebee's popularity.

She has very good voice acting (not that Cora or Vetra don't), some of the more amusing companion banter, is from one of the two most popular alien species in the series, and a lot of people (like me) just aren't interested in Turians at all as LIs for the player character.

Ah, that actually makes a lot of sense. I hadn't ever thought about this, but now you bring it up I realise if I had to rank my favourite squadmates aliens would indeed be dominating the ranks.

Suvi was never going to be a top option because she can only be romanced by SisRyder. And while demographics are rapidly changing, moreso in BioWare games, I'd wager more BroRyder are going to played, at least for first playthroughs.

No, it doesn't change anything. At the point Ryder has just flirted with both but isn't in a relationship with either. The lock-in for either doesn't come till later.

For Peebee I'm assuming she gets locked in as the LI either by having Ryder tell her he wants something serious when she propositions him for no strings fun in her escape pod, or later when Peebee says she wants a committed relationship with Ryder if Ryder agreed to no strings earlier. Agreeding to no strings and sleeping with Peebee definitely doesn't lock her in as the LI, because I had Ryder go that route, and he still ended up in a relationship with Cora.

For Cora I think it may be during one of her side missions where Ryder has an interrupt to kiss her.

No, that's true kumazan. I was just still surprised by Peebee's popularity. It has nothing to do with the voice actor (I felt she did a fine job). But out of the entire crew, it took me a good deal of time to warm up to her. At first I felt she was "meh". Like....in my rankings of ME squadmates, I had her just above Kaidan and just below Javik (the former being dead last). But I did warm up to her; still a little surprised by her popularity, but hey - we each have our favorites and ones we're just okay on. And that's fine. I'm glad people really like her. ^_^

Ultimately went with Peebee for my first Scott run, but I came to really like Cora overall. He came to respect her as a colleague and friend, as the cool head he needed to listen to before he did something COMPLETELY stupid. The "Weeaboo" side of her never bothered me, because I kind of expected it and I think it made for a good, relatable flaw for her, and it was great seeing her use what she was taught to figure out her own path.

I know I'll do a run with Sara next, but after that with Scott, I know I'll romance her with him.

Eyes and I have no idea if you've got that too, but Cora and Liam's uniforms changed. They've got blue shoulders and sleeves.

I'd mistakenly assumed that was a post-ending thing (along the lines of the loyalty outfits in DA2), given that I finished the game the night before the patch, then played some side quests on the weekend and saw the new uniforms.

I'm not sure why they went with "Harper" as Cora's last name, when most fans know the Illusive Man's real name and would obviously make the connection. I saw no hints towards Cora being related to TIM or Cerberus, so it's odd.

I feel like any revelation happening in the future would come out of left field. (and not in a good way)There could have been more character potential with someone trained as a Asari Commando, being related to the leader of a human supremacist group. Maybe they felt it was too much story for Cora, but kept the name anyway?

Still the conflict might be lacking since TIM is long dead, and Cerberus will likely never return in any meaningful way.

I just find the whole thing confusing.

They did? if true then that's a shame. they can change their mind and come up with an excuse later on if they want of course. i thought that maybe they just wanted to present Cora without Illusive Man's baggage before bringing the matter up later. some prefer no connection of course.

Cora ranking low doesn't surprise me since her character model especially suffers from the animation problems in this game. She seems perpetually stuck with a "half-smirk", even during inappropriate story beat moments, and looks very wax-like.

I think if overall human animations were improved and Cora looked more fluid and less robotic, she would be more popular.

I definitely judge a squadmate by how they look, how they talk, their personality, their character arc, all of that. Just saying if they're immersion breaking like Cora is because of some key technical flaws, it definitely hurts their popularity in my eyes.

As far as "Aliens being #1" goes, you're talking with someone that had Jack as the primary LI in ME2 and ME3. I haven't been through much of the campaign yet but I'm having a hard time finding interest in Cora yet despite thinking she'd be an easy choice for Space Bae.

It is a bit odd to give her the surname Harper if she isn't related to TIM. It is a somewhat common surname, but why choose a name that is going to cause fans to make connections that apparently aren't there?

I wonder if they just forgot that TIM's real name came up in the comics.
