Holding out hope she's my next ashley williams. I'd rather have a new Miranda. Or a new Kasumi. Yep anything along either line would be fine by me.

Hey, Ashley's love. Ashley is life.
I am kind of hoping Cora is similar at least in some ways.

Ugh, ugh. Sorry guys. Ashley. Eww. Not another one. I'm hoping Cora will present better than her. I killed Ashley every time. Even after my Shep slept with her.

Agreed either an Ashley or Liara type character would be nice. As it's always good to have a character there for their brain rather than their brawn. Like Liara was in the trilogy or Leliana in DAO/DAI. We can't have Ryder having to figuer it outt all by themselves can we? Well, I see Ash and Liara as two COMPLETELY different characters. However, you're correct, neither is just there to be eye candy. So hopefully Cora won't be just eye candy either. (though looking nice is a plus lol) Agreed but then I thought both were sexy in their own ways and intelligent. After all when I first played ME Ashley seemed like a good grunt type soldier but I wasn't expecting her to start quoting poetry and Liara had her scietific knowledge to gowith her biotic powers so both had that area covered in one way or another. I just hope Cora does too.

New trailer tomorrow. I bet we still don't see Cora (or Liam) well here's hoping we do. After all their lines have been recorded they must have decided on their looks and stuff by now especially given the game's out in 2 months They have said we'll see them before launch it's just a question of when.

I really liked Cora's old icon, to mention that.
The new one feels iffy. I guess it's how pronounced the mouth got on it. I tend to look at the eyes (And no, that's not an euphemism, creeps). Also hair. The way a woman wears it, yeah?
But long-haired pretty but not supermodel overshoot woman would be... Yup. I do say I like Ash for a reason. She's beautiful while not being an overdone AF supermodel, and has a great character. In the first, anyway.

I hated what they did to her in ME3. Leave long haired fighters to fantasy games and keep modern/sci-fi settings realistic on that matter for the love of God! I could definitely get behind hair changing depending if you're on a mission or ship/fully civilian area. Keep it in a bun/ponytail for engagements and let it loose on leave. The new Cora icon is really weird to me. I can't even imagine what her hair is supposed to be. Looks strange af.

I never had a problem with ME3 Ashley's look. Though that may be because I use her armor skin and have helmets always equipped so it leaves her wearing a full helmet when on duty like in ME1 and having her long hair just to when on the ship or Citadel, which is perfectly fine.

Is the one from the gameplay video the newer one? Nevermind I remember now. The one from the Nvidia event is the newer one.

When it came to Ashley, she seemed to have the worst facial animations to me. Compare this to ME1 I'm just not confident that Bioware can pull off long over the face hairstyles without sacrificing facial expression quality. If they do give Cora a similar hairstyle to ME3 Ash, I hope their facial animations dept. has stepped things up a bit.

The only complaint I had with Ashley's design in ME3 was that silly default uniform, that we see no one else wearing. Beyond that I thought people made too much of a fuss over her appearance, and the hair was a non-issue. The Phoenix armor she wore in ME1 (that hardly anyone complains about) was also just as non-tactical, and looked equally out-of-uniform.

The Phoenix armor she wore in ME1 (that hardly anyone complains about) was also just as non-tactical, and looked equally out-of-uniform. Well, the hair was issue for me, since it's just as out place as her uniform. There's a reason no military allows you to wear hair long, especially THAT long and obscuring half your face no less. As for her ME3 outfit compared to ME1 armor, the difference is her ME3 uniform holds literally zero protection value. I never had any problem with boob plates in fantasy or sci-fi settings, because there's never any doubt about them giving protection. Compare that to some spandex suit with half undone zipper, ugh. I'm really the last person to be annyoed be sexualizatin (anyone who's read ugly females thread probably knows this), but if there's one thing I put above candy-eye, it's military professionalism, and neither her hair nor her suit makes any sense in that regard. She's a fucking Alliance officer, Lieutenant-Commander no less. There's no way she doesn't break any regulations, especially before she becomes Spectre. I really loved ME1 for maintaining military professionalism both with NPCs and Shepard's dialogue options. Admiral's inspection of ship is one of my favorite moments in the game. ME2 gave you some options in that regard (even though you weren't de facto military anymore), like your first Engineering visit ("I didn't hear captain on deck!") or with Kelly ("Let's keep it professional Yeoman.") and then when ME3 came out it was pretty much Robin Hood and Merry Company that didn't resemble military at all. Definitely not my cup of tea and I hope ME:A will allow you to maintain military discipline once you take over leadership.

Neither did I in fact I quite liked the change as to me she looked and felt moer matuer and more confident in what she was doing and for me it suited her. We haven't met Cora o Liam yet but I've got a feeling they might be revealed in tomorrow's trailer.

I would also have had all the females on the SR2 had their hair in a bun to keep it off the collar. But its Biowares military. They can do whatever. I do agree her armor in ME1 was not what I would want a soldier to be wearing. Anyways. I like to see Cora. If not, I won't lose any sleep

I can agree on the latter, but in ME2 we worked for Cerberus, which isn't a military organization, so rules werent supposed to be as strict.

I'm sad that they forced you to completely sever ties after ME2 and made Cerberus typical ultra-bad organization as opposed to keeping it in grey area, perhaps even allowing you to rekindle ties for a common goal. I miss those 180 degrees spins you could do in older RPG games, like going Dark Side in KOTOR1 for example.

There were a lot of missed opportunities for more greyish themes in the trilogy (ME1 was the best in that regard imo). Let's hope ME:A will be better in that regard. I'd love Cora to be professional, stoic and devoted to the cause character. I loved Dr. Lokin in SWTOR for being the ultimate pragmatic character. Ready to do the most "disgusting" (as in sending Imperial Death Squads to kill any witnesses) things if it made sense and served the cause (that being glory of the Empire of course!), but at the same time frowning upon any needless use of intimidation or violence. I wish there were more characters like that in games. If Cora at least resembled Lokin a bit, I'd be very, very happy. The pragmatic route is how I usually play my characters and I'm glad newer RPGs game embrace stoic/pragmatic options much more than the usual angel/devil choices presented in older RPG games.

I don't really want Cora to be a 'new Miranda' or 'new Kasumi', and definitely not a 'new Ashley' I'd prefer if Cora were her own character who has her own unique and individual merits as a character, and stands out from the crowd of human female characters in the franchise. Luckily, so far each have been distinct enough so that there aren't any 2.0s running around the Milky Way. Ideally, Cora isn't just a Miranda 2.0 etc. But, if Cora were to share characteristics or traits with another human female character from the OT, whilst still standing on her own as her own character, I'd definitely like to see her eschew Miranda or Kasumi over Ashley. Even Jack. Maybe a dash of Miranda's strength of will, with some of Kasumi's indelible wit, and a hint of Jack's badassery to bring to the boil

Kaidan/Ashley and Miranda/Jacob were different from each other, so I think the same might happen with Liam/Cora, with the latter resembling your description. About ME3, regardless of the nonsense (in my opinion) of having Cerberus becoming such a huge galaxy-wide threat, I thought it'd have been the natural evolution of the first games, with the first being Alliance and the second Cerberus. Besides, even if, as I said, I'm not a fan, I don't like that they gave the chance to people to work with and support Cerberus, writing (or trying to) them to be an alternative side to the Alliance, and then went back. Granted, the same happened between ME-ME2 (although they didn't gloss in general on Cerberus' actions in the second), but doing it two times is more ridiculous then one.
