I'm going to see if I can dig up the old post I made about this... If this is older news and nothing newer came up, then I'm afraid EA is hell-bent on doing this after all...

It's a basic corporate restructure. This is something to worry about on the same level as the procreation of ants.
Besides, if you're going to insert an extra layer of management, you could do a lot worse than Samantha Ryan. She has earned her stripes in the game development trenches.

I'm going to see if I can dig up the old post I made about this... If this is older news and nothing newer came up, then I'm afraid EA is hell-bent on doing this after all... Here's the thing, though, and I'm going to quote theflyingzamboni because the post sums it up rather well: "Yeeeaaah, that's just a organizational restructuring. They're not merging studios, they're just grouping them together in the hierarchy of who reports to whom. Apparently they're not even cutting jobs. So BioWare is still BioWare, they're just reporting to a new person."
There is little to nothing that prompts warning so far in regards to this. Bioware was already reporting to someone, as far as I know, and they were already a division of EA so the structure and names might have changed but it remains the same more or less except maybe it'll be Bioware: A Division of EA Worldwide Studios.
In short, I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't stop using the Bioware name just yet. The employees will let us know if that becomes appropriate because they will start identifying themselves as working for EA rather than Bioware.

In general I just don't like it when studio responsible for our favorite franchise is being gradually dismantled by EA and will be put into grinder that will give us who knows what.
The workflow within the newly formed unit owned by EA must be in line with the needs of the dev team and we all know EA loves to hamper the progress/working comfort of its employees and that may have a potential negative impact for any story DLCs for ME:A.

I don't think EA is dismantling Bioware. They gave the latter more time for developing their games recently, and DAI story dlcs were released.

Not really surprising. This has been gradually happening for years now. The original Bioware is long gone. EA is using the name for brand recognition like say, Walmart use "GE"(General Electric) for instance. You think you are getting a GE product but if you look on the back, the product is clearly made at Walmart Stores Inc.

You are late to the party OP. Lets not go all doomsayer now, if anything bioware is more active than ever working on 3 games at the same time.

I really don't understand the whole "Old BioWare is gone" companies are dynamic they are never the same from one game to another for they are always trying to either make more money or make a game that is more appealing to the people that are currently buying games. You can see in many companies changes from one game to another as trends change in gaming or they are trying to address what people like and didn't like about their games. If the games aren't for you that is fine, but I think its a little selfish to proclaim a company "dead" because you don't like what they are making any longer for I bet there are plenty of people that still do for if they weren't making money I bet there would be a focus on how to make games for those people. Personally I think not charging for the Extended Cut of Mass Effect 3 was a pretty big indication they are trying, even if you didn't like what they released.

This is actually old news.
I'm a bit surprised that we still have these threads and conversations pop up as often as we do. Given the lessons that EA seems to have learned following ME3, I'd say BioWare is safer now than before. The devs are active in this forum, somewhat regularly interacting with us. Do they sound like oppressed EA lackies, worried about being downsized? They sound like BioWare developers, to me, still excitedly working on the games we love.
I understood this anxious type of thinking circa 2012. Now, though? From all appearances, EA is giving BioWare a bit more space to make good games. They seem to have realized that BioWare does this very well without their interference. I could be wrong, but this is how I read the signs.

Second time this has come up... BioWare is not technically part of that reshuffling, only Maxis and the mobile division are. BioWare is, however, now headed by the person in charge of that new studio. Honestly this is very run of the mill...and for a company like EA a bit forward thinking in putting Ryan in charge and re-structuring her duties.

I didn't see the EA logo in the trailer either, all that was there is the "copyright of EA".

I think the old formula still applies:
If it's about money (product prices, sales, refunds, provisioning, release date, etc.) or technical support, blame EA.
Everything else, blame Bioware.
The one thing that may be an exception is marketing. Advertising is probably all EA, but interviews, demos to game journalists, Q&A's, social media, etc., seems to be all Bioware.
