Just a doubt that I had suddenly: In an interview, Peebee's voice actress Christine Lakin says she's "somebody who has never really trusted anyone. This is the first time that she’s allowed herself to open up and be a part of a team, or fall in love." Producer Mike Gamble has since confirmed that she is indeed romanceable. She flirted freely with us as Sara Ryder during our hands-on time with the game, and mentions that she came to Andromeda with a female partner. If this is the first time she is opening up to fall in love, what is the deal with the ex girlfriend?? That she came together from the Milky Way with? Seems like a pretty big deal to me! It could be they just had a casual or not so serious romance. The press made note of it, but PeeBee's dialogue could have been rather lighthearted about it so one could say she technically hasn't "fell in love" with anyone yet. The term usually indicates a serious/deep romantic attraction as opposed to a light/not so serious one. |

You know what? I want to have the break up be this horrible thing that pushed Peebs to be this reluctant love interest. We've had so many Carths, give me more Isabelas. Let us earn the relationship, and yet out not be emo angsty 'they died' stuffs. Yeah, no dead ex-girlfriends please. I also hope that it's not like Leliana's situation either, where it's this evil ex-girlfriend we have to confront (see: Leliana's personal quest in DA:O). Could this be the reason she goes by Peebee, rather than the more obvious nickname of Pel? Maybe Pel was the name used by someone important to her who died (such as a parent, sibling or lover), making it hard for her to hear that name anymore?
Sort of similar to Samara never calling her daughter anything other than "Morinth", rather than Mirala. By using her daughters pseudonym, it made it easier to hunt her down and separate the good memories of her daughter, from the monster she eventually became.

Theoretically, if we are Scott, WE are the Pathfinder, and Sara gets passed over for whatever reason. But you may be ultimately right, I can see PeeBee having different responses based on the backgrounds. Maybe more a mental connection with scientific Sara, and physical with soldier Scott? Note, not saying either slouch in either category, BUT their backgrounds point to that being the main difference aside gender. |

Her sideways glance at the end was the same, but otherwise I could see how someone would take that to mean she prefers women. For Peebee though there is no reason for straight dudes and lesbians to be in competition for who she'll prefer more. One of the benefits of Asari, to me, is how they seemed beyond that kind of bullshit. That they could see others through a lens of objectivity a gendered species could not is one of their biggest appeals, to me. Let's not ruin that. |

I wonder if it means we'll get more diversity re: asari appearance in ME:A and the franchise going forward. Personally, I would love to one day get a gruff, more soldier-y asari squadmate, especially if Peebee stays on as a squadmate too in future titles.
