Ever since ME2 I've loved the idea of having some sort of co-op campaign in a BioWare game, you know, with 2-3 players and each get their own dialogue choices. I know SWTOR is basically that, but I don't want it as an MMO with boring level-design and bad quests. I would love it where the story focuses on two characters that have a relationship. It would be the perfect game to play with a good buddy or a partner.
I just played Resident Evil 5 and 6 on PS4 with a stranger and it has exactly that just minus the great BioWare world building or awesome role-playing aspect. But it had the endearing characters that work together to defeat the bigger foe, and I particularly loved how RE6 had a certain companionship that ended with hints of love in a really bombastic and epic finale, and all those campaigns were like 4-5 hours long. I know that would be a big DLC, but I would honestly love that, also to break away the pace of regular multiplayer Co op in these games. It's also a great opportunity to expand the Andromeda series into something new and special.

Didn't one of the leaks contain a plan for co-op during certain ingame missions? Like inviting people from your friendslist to join with their MP chars and fight alongside your Ryder. Has that been debunked already?

Well, if that story can only be played with another person, that's a problem, because most people even in MMO do not play with MMo-friends, but do pugs. If the story is puggable, sure, why not. But if it forces guilds and MMO-type unions, it would really suck for all the solo and pug players that do not treat the game as a social platform and a part or full time occupation on a firm schedule. I am not on board with MMO-mimicking, because that enforced paradigm of forming statics for prolonged daily play sessions is one reason for the decline in MMO genre.
save for very few lucky couples and families, most people simply cannot ensure logistics of an enjoyable coop run that is centred around story and dialogue. They MMO friends do it for "stuff", for dialogue... I don't see it happening with a type of player that goes into group content.
i guarantee you, that the moment it comes out, the very first reaction will be: can it be solo'd or played with my companion(s)? The top reason people want solo versions of group content, or solo it overleveled etc in MMOs is to see the cutscenes in peace.

I can't be bothered to google it right now but I think I remember the leak saying there'd be certain missions you could do with your own characters, *or* you could invite buddies to do it with you. Also something about missions you could do as Ryder and crew, or do with your MP kits? Ring any bells for anyone else?
