Do you think any BioWare employees are secretly fraternizing with us?

Nah, I'm pretty sure they couldn't care any less about this forum.

If they completely removed their own forums in the first place, they wouldn't be bothered to waste their time reading these fan-made forums.

If they're not hot Bio Babes then I don't care.

Well...If they do, I don't mind them knowing I've enjoyed their work on the DA series. I don't do ME because it's a shooter game.

Yes, I believe some of them do. Some that are new to the company. Some that have been their for a while.

Not everyone at BioWare share the same opinion that a forum is obsolete. Unfortunately, they aren't the ones paying for that forum to remain up, so their opinion matters little.

Forums are still, and likely always will be, the best place to get good (useful), honest feedback from your target audience. Whoever says otherwise clearly hasn't had to gather user opinion before.

I would consider everyone at BioWare foolish if they didn't have a handful of people going into the forums to find out what's what.

I'm just gonna be lazy and copy-pasta from a previous thread...

We actually have several BioWare devs (and a general manager) registered here. They've posted a bit, but are mostly lurking. Many do want to keep a pulse on the fan community, which is why some are here and watching to gather intel and such.

For their own protection, we don't force any of them to wear a "BioWare" custom title underneath their screen name unless they specifically asked for it to better identify themselves to others. When this forum was born, it was obviously during a rather tumultuous and contentious time and the general opinion of BioWare was low, so the moderation team agreed that we wanted them to be able to be anonymous and not feel the pressure or potentially be subject to abuse.

We do vet anyone who registers claiming to be a dev/using a known dev's name, Twitter handle, or gaming ID. I am familiar with many of them personally, so I recognized them as the genuine article. Moderators can also see the email addresses of users here, so that has been another way to verify authenticity. And in the case of one rather high profile name, two of us ended up DMing him on Twitter at the same time to make sure it was truly him and not a potential imposter.  So, you can rest assured that if someone is here using a BioWare dev's name and/or has chosen to have a BioWare custom title under their screen name, they are the real deal and verified.

They ARE on protected status, too. Not that it's really any different from how we protect any of our users - personal abuse/insults are not tolerated for very long - but the moderation team keeps extra aware in areas they are posting because, in the past on the old forum, there has been a tendency for devs to be dogpiled when they appear. That's simply not going to be allowed here, period. They are our guests.
