Although out of bitterness I have promised to not buy Andromeda, I might re consider if they have this MEA. I abosolutly loved in DAO and DA2. DAI not so much.

I think they fit DAO better than ME. As long as I can map their powers to quick slots and use good old Q and E for generic orders, I think I will be fine.

Agree with capn.
I prefer using the dpad to issue orders quickly. Or just use the combat wheel.
I'd give it a go but I'd hope I could disable it.

YES! Also why I really enjoyed the tactical script of DA:O and DA2. Mike said we would have tactics in DA:I and so he gave me craptactics instead of my expected tactical script.
But, combat streamlining is the ordre du jour, these days. I'm set for no unrealistic expectations from Bio., as far as squad tactics go.

Of course I would have liked customizable tactics like in DA:O, but I'm just fine without it as long as the squadmates don't get in the way.

Agreed with capn and zip. I actually don't mind if they had them but I would need the option to switch them off, because I strongly prefer ME's combat system over DA's. I love that I control a 3-men squad directly by mapping their powers instead of letting everyone go wild or having to switch between characters to make sure they use the right power. Such a chore.

For me, I like what DAI did.
For ME1/2/3, I like the way it currently is.

While I thought DA:O was cool with what you could tell your people to do, it was really really really confusing for a ton of people. Myself included.
I would get in these situations where I could tell that somebody wasn't doing something, but I couldn't tell what. Then, all of a sudden I would turn around and see a character (usually my healer) just standing there with his/her hand in the air as if he/she was casting something, then go to another animation, and back to the first one. He/She was caught in a loop.
Trying to find where the loop catches? That was damn near impossible, too. I want to play a game, not become a master at programming. I'd much rather prefer to have it the DA:I style, where you can have priorities set up. Where everybody drinks a potion of healing.

D-pad
^ = Suppressing Fire < = Hold this position > = Flank hostiles
I would make use of these, were they in the game.

I enjoyed the simplicity of tactics in Star Wars: Republic Commando. I think for a shooter-based series like ME, they'd be easy to use.
"Form up" (everyone follows party leader)
"Search and destroy" (everyone advances at will)
"Hold position" (team holds the vicinity of wherever you aim)
"Move on" (if assigned to a position such as a gun emplacement, the relevant party member(s) return to using normal tactics).

It would be nice to see some tactical shooter elements in the game similar to Ghost Recon, I want to plan my infiltration, by positioning my sniper for overwatch to take out enemies with heavy weapons and snipers, having my team to cover/suppressing fire on targets, and ambush enemies with stealth. I want a Special Op Tactical style/genre.

One thing I enjoyed about GRFS was that I didn't have to babysit the AI squad. As for ME:A, either programmable tactics or DA:I's Enabled/Disabled/Preferred system is fine with me. Well, as long as they don't lock up in the middle of combat.

It seems Cmdr Shepard's fighting style is more of a light infantry style because all you do is go with a strike team, go behind enemy lines and hit hard and strike fast with much damage as possible. Shepard is more of a type of U.S. Army Ranger more than a Special Op soldier to me because of his fighting style.

I kind of liked the idea behind Spec Ops: The Line, how you could command a member of your team to snipe an enemy.

I think BioWare can learn a lot from games that focused on squad tactics from SOCOM series to make their squad tactics more effective.
