Recently got this can of pepper spray to carry when I'm not able to carry around my snub. It even has a safety that turns the opening inward. I contemplated testing it on myself, but then that might lead to my wanting to test my .38spc +p hollowpoints on myself.... Pepper sprays are great, you can use them in a pinch and you wont end up in court with a bunch of assholes trying to pin excessive force on you. Don't use them on yourself though, they CAN damage your eyes permanently. Just do some practice on a target a couple meters away to get a feel for the spray pattern. You still have to hit your opponent to make it work. Speaking of hollow points, I'm currently developing a .45acp self defense load. I chose 230 grain gold dot bullet, I load it with 5.9 grain VN340 OAL 31,60mm for 855 fp/s. I did a test on a squash pumpkin and that little fruit offering little resistance made the bullet expand to .62 caliber. So far so good!

Gotta say I love the .44 MAG Carbines/SBR (second from bottom) from the games and wouldn't mind having one IRL(or better yet in .357).

Gotta say I love the .44 MAG Carbines/SBR (second from bottom) from the games and wouldn't mind having one IRL(or better yet in .357). I like them too, funny thing is they are very popular around here due to the laws. Its much harder to get a handgun here than a rifle, but a certain length a revolver turns into a rifle. Add a buttstock and you have a nice little handy carbine with 6-8 quick shots. We have the Alfa-Proj revolving carbines, they're made in CZ and are good quality pieces. 38/.357 version; and a .22 / .22mag They also got rails for scopes and red dots.

I've gotten interested in getting a .357 lever gun with a threaded barrel for a silencer, and with 158 gr subsonic rounds it'd be for a good stand in for a De Lisle Carbine.

If you live in the states and always wanted a short barreled shotgun, *ahem" pistol, without going through ATF paperwork and paying a tax stamp, then this twin barreled six inch muzzleloader is just for you.
Seems alright as a derringer for self-defense.

Hehehe, so true. Way back in the day when I was a PL, I scheduled my platoon for time down-range, and there was a female range chief. Some of my joes were like 'shit, this woman ain't gonna do shit, we're a rifle platoon.' Turns out, she was the first female enlisted graduate of the Sniper School, she was hawking shots on an M4 at ranges that my DM could barely match. She literally shot holes in the dick all day. I loved it. I hope that, with women allowed in combat arms, she at least got a branch transfer and a deployment or two.

Rad new AK for the civilian market by the Kalashnikov group. If they offer it in 5.56 and in the states, then i'm very tempted to get it.

If they offer it in 5.56 and in the states, then i'm very tempted to get it. Why not 7,62x39? Its a very good cartridge with good availability, cheap mags and lots of punch. You can even hunt with it if you use expanding bullets, the .223 is a little too small for that. Just saying, I have lots of experience with both cartridges.

The guys at TAOFLEDERMAUS test out a 3A rated armored face mask against .22LR, 9x19 and .45ACP.
As you all know, just because a bullet doesn't penetrate, that doesn't mean you won't get seriously injured or incapacitated.

As you all know, just because a bullet doesn't penetrate, that doesn't mean you won't get seriously injured or incapacitated. ...Or killed. Because that looks pretty much like how they would club people to death in medieval times. UHDPE and UHMWPE is per penetration level lighter than the best steel armor. Like 2 to 2½ times lighter. But in other regards it's much less useful. 5 mm of suitable steel alloy, correctly hardened, will stop a succession of an entire magazine of 7.62mm NATO, from full barrel length, at point blank range. The second round will penetrate UHMWPE, if it hits in the same place or close. But most important, the steel plate will have zero intrusion. It retains its form. There's no shock or impact injury. It's not that I can't appreciate the convenience of the lower weight for a soldier in the field, but for particularly a faceplate, and for Police, security, SWAT and anti-terrorist activity, ultrahard steel would seem a so much better option. Also, if the ambition is only to stop pistol bullets, the steel can be thinner. Another thing, while UHMWPE is lighter, it's much more bulky and cumbersome.

MAC looks into this 7.62x51 rifle newly adopted by India's northern command. Well, if it says northern command. It's probably long distance country, like Afghanistan. (Just another comment, about that AK rifle, if it doesn't explicitly say 5.56 but only .223, you should probably not shoot 5.56 in it, only .223. But I'm reasonably sure it'll say 5.56/.223)

And yeah, 5.56 nato is generally loaded hotter than .223(the reverse is true of 7.62x51 vs .308 iirc).

And yeah, 5.56 nato is generally loaded hotter than .223(the reverse is true of 7.62x51 vs .308 iirc). Yea, but the chambers are subtly different. There is a small bullet jump in 5.56. This allows it to have a slightly faster propellant without risking a catastrophic pressure spike. Theoretically, it should mean slightly less accuracy, but it also means you can get better velocity from shorter barrels. In .223, the bullet enters the barrel directly. I frankly don't get it why there are also AR-15s with .223, as well as AR-15s with 5.56/.223. I also don't get it why there are full size revolvers that come in .38 Special as well as .357/.38.
