Is it though? I brought up genital diversity on earth alone, imagine the variances in a whole galaxy. Lets take Bedbugs for example. When Bedbugs mate there is no 'traditional' intercourse. The male just walks up and literally stabs a female with his needle penis. Female Bedbugs can actually die if they mate too often. Now lets pretend that there is a Bedbug analog evolving on a planet somewhere and they achieve spaceflight like the Rachni. I don't see humans or Quarians getting it on with alien bedbugs very often.

Another less horrible example are Salmon. Salmon practice external fertilization and so their genitals have not evolved for intercourse. Male and Female Salmon swim side by side over a nest, the female lays her eggs and then the male releases his sperm...and then they both die. Lets imagine that there is a Salmon analog on a planet somewhere that evolves and achieves space flight. When they meet up with humans they will have no concept of sexual penetration which to some humans is an integral part of sex. On top of that if they did find a way to have sex with humans via sex compatibility tech they'd also be killing themselves. I don't think even an Ardat-Yakshi would appreciate that.

Sex on earth is incredibly diverse and when considering the vast, albeit fictional galaxy of Mass Effect I find it hard to believe that all the species, even the handful we've encountered in gameplay, would all be compatible. Even still I can accept that future tech would overcome SOME barriers.

I seriously need these NPCs to be super high quality and in depth. So far I'm way more into Kallo, Suvi, Gil, and Lexi than I am into any of the squadmates besides Cora.
