Yeah when I did my full series re-read in anticipation of book 9's release, there was quite a bit of stuff in book 8 in particular that I didn't remember and so either missed or forgot. Kudos to you for having the willpower to finish book 8 before jumping into book 9, if I hadn't finished my re-read before book 9 came out I'm not sure I could have stopped myself from just skipping to the new book.

Would love to have bought them all as one instead of having bought them individually already. Managed to get to 80% finished book 8 with a late night readathon last night. Hopefully finish today and start the new book.

According to the Expanse Wiki the final novella is set after the events of Leviathan Falls. Very interesting. Will almost certainly be checking that out.

Winterlight. Green Rider series by Kristen Britain The seventh book is really thick! I bought the hardcover version and wow, like all of the books in the Green Rider series, I couldn't put it down. I still have yet to finish it. Karigan continued her journey to return to Sacor City and deliver the news of her mission to King Zachary. She fell into another situation when she helped out an injured potterer, waylaid by brigands. When she escorted him back to town, she learned of the massacre of an entire family in the regional farmland and the fear and terror they had been wreaking throughout the region. Bodily and spiritually wounded by the Battle of the North Forest, Karigan was not ready nor did she want to shoulder another burden. However, she inspected the scene of the massacre and agreed to deliver a letter by the villagers' leader to King Zachary. When she was a day away from Sacor City, she was waylaid by three horsemen and magically teleported to another region. Who're they and what did they want? What is their connection to the brigands / raiders?

Now that I'm done with Leviathan Falls, its back to the Three-Body Problem (only got about 25% into it before, was having trouble fully getting into it with the anticipation over the final Expanse book on the horizon)

Just about to start reading this: I just hope its any good, the last couple books in the fantasy genre were really disappointing for me. After finishing Abercrombie's ''Law'' series which I really loved I read his next book in this world ''A little hatred'' which was a vast disappointment. Then, after finishing the amazing ''The Vagrant'' trilogy of Peter Newman (its in my top 3 series ever) I was super disappointed by ''Landfall'' also written by Newman- its hard to believe that this book was written by the same author. Last book I read was ''Prince of thornes'' - written by Marc Lawrence - which I had to stop reading because it was the most edgiest shite I've ever read. A 14 year old murdering adult soldiers by the scores dropping edgy one liners? Yeah right. I just wish I could find a series that captures my imagination and gives me characters I get really attached to like Glenn Cooks ''The Black Company''. So far nothing I read has come even close to that. In any case, Peter Newman's ''Deathless'' seems to have an intriguing world, I'll hope for the best and just jump right into that book.

I think Amos is still my favourite character, closely followed by Drummer TV spoilers to season 5. No clue if there are book spoilers cause I haven't read em. I really like Amos too.
I also really liked Alex but, well... not much ado about dat.
Peaches had quite the turnaround for me. I very much did not like her at all at the beginning. Not just because she was an antagonist either. I've enjoyed catching glimpses of her development.
But my favourite (In the TV series) so far? Ashford by a magnitude of order. Stole every scene he was in, kept me guessing, had honour among thieves, great development even if it was only regurgitated through anecdotes about his past. Hell that added to it, sifting the truth out. Great acting, good lines, and a fun story.

Book Spoilers Totally agree re Peaches, Ashford never grabbed me. He was good but I thought he was best when in scenes with Drummer.
Marco is one character whose actor I really don't like. Another I don't like is "Bull" who replaces Alex, he was great in the books and had a really prominent role in book 3 I think where he played 2 IC to a character Drummer morphed with in the show Michio Pa. He was a African American Earther who was a quiet strong willed honourable guy trying to help the belt, nothing like how he's portrayed in the show.

Obviously TV/film adaptations tend to stray a bit from the source material, but making Bobbie Draper a skinny white girl (!!) would have been a bit too much. Bobbie was supposed to be Samoan (iirc?) and built like a tank, she even kicks the living crap out of Amos at one point.

" Water Margin" really impressive chinese mustread (for chinese) classic from 1300 AD. Real fun while big and repetitive: banquets, adventures, injustice, binge drinking, fights and massacre in every pages Dont read wiki's sumarry btw, would be loosing half the fun. I m pissed i did as i m in the middle of it after 900 pages. Edit: And if you dive into it, you should write one or 2 sentences for each main Characters you read about for more than few chapters. I didnt, and i lost track of few of them i loved.
