Hi
I have recently bought ME3 and midway through realized its the best game ever. However i also realized that its interconnected with the first two.
Basically what would you do if you were me , finish ME3 or start from ME1?
Also do missions have to be done in order ?
Thanks in advance

If I were you, I'd start from ME1, you'll get a lot more out of the whole story if you start from the very beginning and experience your decisions (even seemingly minor ones) having effects all the way through.
You have a lot of flexibility in terms of mission order, although some missions become unavailable if you leave them too long. For example, in ME3, the Grissom Academy mission needs to be done fairly early on; it is locked out and deemed to have failed if you haven't completed it by about midway through the main story. Without giving too much away, hopefully: in ME2, you should consider delaying the IFF mission until you've done every other optional mission that you're interested in.

Finish it. Remember it as a default playthrough that you currently say is great. Then start with ME1 and play all the way through. See the difference from an ME3 default playthrough vs having a save imported from ME2
Missions don't have to be completed in order especially side-missions

Some dialogue and actions change significantly if you do the first two games and then import your file. Also, some dialogue and actions will change if you do the mission is a different order. Some of the missions will not open until you're far enough along in the game to do them and, in ME3, some missions will become locked out if you don't do them before a particular mission or within so many missions of another mission. These all result in different dialogue and consequences occurring.
For your first playthrough, I agree with the others here. It is best to play the series from the beginning and import your save into the next game. You get access to a greater amount of the game's content that way. There is also quite a bit of mission generating DLC available for each game... and playing it in ME1 and ME2 also adds quite a bit of related content into ME3. However, it will depend a little on how you feel about spoilers. Some of the additional content you'll get from an imported playthrough will be hinted at in your current playthrough. If you do go back and playthrough from the beginning now, keep your current save and finish it on a replay... so you can experience the differences between an imported save and one that just starts with ME3.
After your first playthrough, you'll probably find yourself replaying it differently a few times... changing choices, flipping around with the order of things, skipping out on some missions, etc. just to see what the different consequences are throughout the games. Warning... playing ME can be quite addictive.

Then go back and start over from the beginning. It'll add so much more to the story. Priority missions mostly have to be done in order, except for the DLC (From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega, Citadel). The DLC can be done in any order once they appear. Non-priority missions have a chance of expiring so it's best to do them before any of the base game Priority missions to make sure they don't time out.

If interested, you can post your playthrough in this thread I will be back to discuss it . I love this community and the game. I actually do that thread as a kind of diary for Shepard. It's fun that way for me. Other people stick to the facts. Do it in whatever style suits you but I'd post after each time playing so as not to forget. I happen to switch between an open post and the game so I can detail things precisely. Looking forward to hearing about your Shepard! As others said, the fighting style is different in ME1. It's not bad but requires adjustment. It took some time for me to easily switch between ME1 and ME2. There are even differences between ME2 and ME3, though not as significant. Have fun! Also, remember not to take it all too seriously. You'll enjoy yourself more that way.

Also people's perspective on how events played out.Sadly i don't think i can start ME1 before this coming wednesday due to my schedule becoming a little hectic these days. But come wednesday i will be sure to check back in.

ME3 was not out when I got into this series. I started with ME2, finished it, then played ME1. It was actually pretty cool to experience vanilla ME2, then go back and play it again with a ME1 import, seeing changes in the landscape due to previous decisions I made.
It's not a big deal either way, IMO. You will probably enjoy yourself about the same, regardless.

As far as mission order goes, there's one rule of thumb I always apply in ME3:
Priority missions should be done last.
There were a few instances where I did a priority mission first, and afterwards found out that I couldn't do the side missions for that planet any more. Rannoch for example. I think Tuchanka has the same problem.

I think Tuchanka has the same problem. True for the Rannochc arc, but not true with Tuchanka... The Wiki does state when missions become available and when they expire. For example, the Wiki does state that Turian Platoon, it can be done anytime after Priority Sur'Kesh and before Priority: Thessia. As a second proviso, it must be done within 3 missions of doing Turian Bomb You can, therefore, take Tali on the Attican Traverse, Turian Bomb and Turian Platoon missions... and this does open up some additional dialogues that include her.
For the Rannoch are, the Wiki does state that the missions do not unlock until after you do Priority: Geth Dreadnought and expire before doing Priority: Rannoch.
However, if you are playing blind, then your rule of thumb about doing the Priority missions last is a good one as it will ensure that you don't accidentally miss out on doing some of the others.

For those who didn't know.Turian bomb mission can be done just before Cronos. Doing it that way gives an extra line of dialogue from Hackett.

It's one of my all-time favorites with gaming ever. Used to be either KOTOR or Fallout 1 and 2 (3 and 4 are less interesting to me). That said, I only found ME earlier this year. I think it worked out better for me. I got to play them in quick succession. I think the result is that I didn't see any of the major flaws (or at least they didn't bother me) that fans of the series since 2007 have noticed for a long time. But even those people are still playing...

It is such a gripping game one minute you are on character customization , the next on the edge of your seat. Beautiful stuff
