I wonder if BioWare will list a number of acceptable names or if we will have to guess...

Only the default names Scott/Sara will be referenced in dialogues. Ian replied to a tweet I made about the topic That is still awesome. I'll even leave default names if that means I won't hear Ryder and Ryder over and over again. I loved hearing my PC's name in F4. I'm glad we'll have this in Andromeda, or at least, a small part of it.

So many good things in theory for once.
A pathfinder is by no means the leader of an arc, just the scout group. Hell, fucking yes! So there's no "You're the underling but then become the leader!" despite the rank up to being the head scout for your ark.
They mention "political situations" and I somehow feel it meant to say "diplomatic" given the example, but that paragraph about being in a quest hub and then going to explore and the situation they describe where you can interefere or ignore -- that sounds great.
Also, the water shortage, just makes me nostalgic. Reminds me of Feros in ME1.
This got my hopes up a bit tbh.
Also, I'm not ever not calling myself scott or sara. They should've used my idea of picking 10 generic names that could be voiced in what I assume will be less than 10 times throughout the entire game, and just make a voiced line or callout for every name, so if you happen to pick a name from that list the game recognizes it and uses "james" or "Jennifer" for example.

If they are using the default names in voiced lines, I hope it doesn't amount to just one character that does so (The Ryder family and squadmates definitely should, I really hated that Codsworth was the only one who called the Fallout 4 player character by name).

Family members are the obvious choices for it. Given they used only one name per gender, I think it can go a bit beyond that, with some other characters when you developed a friendship/relationship with them. I'd have liked more options, but it's a nice first step for me.

The best part for this Spoiler is NPC can call my first name. even they can only call me Scott, I not have problem with it. I can live with name Scott, the name my parent give me. ( I am sure many people don't like their name much but they still use that name for all entire life)

Uh oh. Automatic cover. Everyone thinks that they're going to choose their romance, but they're wrong. Ryder's OTP will be chest-high walls. Yeah I'm not liking the sound of this automatic cover. It could be extremely annoying in multiplayer when trying to RHA or similar and you get automatically glued to a wall if standing too close... I hope they consider adding a manual cover option that can be toggled in the game menu so players who want to manually enter cover by pressing a button can still do that. I didn't like auto cover in ME1 so not happy about it coming back.

I'm thinking maybe they patch it in early after release, because there will probably be complaints and they've done control patches before.

This is how "automatic cover" works in recent Battlefield games: if you character is standing/crouching near a surface that could be used as cover, i.e. stands next to a door frame or is crouched behind a rock, using the aiming down sights function (usually right mouse button on PC) while looking in an appropriate direction will make the character use that cover for as long as you aim down sights and don't move. You do not "stick" to the cover, the game merely automatically recognizes the cover if you're already in it and animates your character appropriately.

Seeing as not everything was translated I summarized the rest.
They talk about how Bioware Montreal started making Andromeda soon after the end of the trilogy because Bioware wanted to build up the Montreal studio.
Aaron Flynn and Yanick Roy deny that EA has a big influence on Bioware games.
When Shepard is mentioned they are called 'he.' Same goes for Ryder later on.
Bioware has two pillars for Andromeda. The first and foremost one being combat, including leveling up, character builds and abilities. The second pillar is characters and story.
Once again the big, open planet levels are likened to Inquisition.
Fabrice Condominas says Inquisition, Fallout and Witcher are inspirations but Andromeda won't be a sandbox. They have learned from Inquisition. The density of content is higher. Yet exploration is still a focus. Players can walk around for minutes without encountering any 'gameplay content'.
Ressource collection is back. It will 'help' crafting.
Mac Walters says the smallest romance in Andromeda is bigger than the biggest romance in ME3.
Some cover can be destroyed. This is meant to stop people hunkering down.
(It appears we are back to being sexually assaulted by Asari. Just like ME1. Remember the mind rapes because the beacons or the face grabbing of the Consort.) Ryder will be examined by an Asari after waking up from Cryo.
Thermo clips are gone. There will be regular ammunition.

I doubt the asari part will be anything like ME. We already saw an asari doctor with Ryder in the trailer. It'll be probably standard medical examination. I still think it's stupid to change the name from thermal clips to ammo, since the function is the same and it messes up the lore, but oh well.

sometimes, i think the community is better at acknowledging femshep and femryder than they are. lmao
and like elder king said, examine doesn't mean mind-melding. it makes sense to have some kind of examination after cryo.

He questioned if they went from unlimited to limited supply, then why not return to ammo then.

Thermal clips were ammo in all but name already anyway, since they were not universal as the lore claimed (you could not load all your thermal clips into the same gun, they were spread among all the guns you carried) and weapon ammo/thermal capacity count was similar to present day magazine capacities instead of depending on weapon heat generation (otherwise pistols should have had huge thermal capacities).

When going to a new galaxy, it may be an advantage to use guns that use standard ammunition instead of microconstructors inside a mass effect field - ease of fabrication, supply and maintenance. I'd actually like that, it seems a smart thing to do.

I guess I have to wait to see how well it works, but I'm generally not a fan of the game auto-ing any aspect of combat. I really liked ME3's approach to cover but I guess enough others didn't...hence the change (not that it guarantees it to be better.)

I don't know how much the change is influenced by ME2-3 cover system not being well received, or the fact that on console there might be the need of more buttons being used for the powers/other functions, since the pause system isn't present or available as in the trilogy.

I guess I am assuming a bit, but I do recall more than a few complaints about going into cover accidentally too often...I think primarily among console players. With K+M I thought it worked brilliantly. I'm actually glad they are getting rid of the pause function. If it's there I tend to use and get dependent on it, but such is an impediment to MP, which I've wanted to get into more but developed bad habits from the SP to be much good (I actually wonder if it's removal was specifically to have one unified gameplay to improve SP/MP crossover). Though I know more than a few people are probably upset at the pause and aim removal.
