So recently i've been trying to play some multiplayer but as soon as i try to open multiplayer the game just bloody crashes.... tried to repair the game and reinstalling it and nothing, and when i looked online i couldn't really find anything useful to help. It just randomly started to happen and there wasn't even an update or anything to cause this in first place. Thanks ea/bioware... here is a little something for you: |

I think it is called Retaliation glitch. Having same troubles with my game for a week now. The only thing I didn't try is reinstalling my damn Windows.
Just disconnect internet connection when you start the game, while on the screen which asks you to press any key. Go back to game window, press any key to get to start menu. Connect to the internet after that it, make sure Origin goes online and then switch back to the game window and enjoy multiplayer.
From now on you will be able to play with friends only when you host the game.

Guess you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Origin again. Origin seems to be the source of everyone's problems from what I can tell. Sure is the case with me, anyway.
If that doesn't work. Just permanently uninstall Origin and never look back.

Guess you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Origin again. Origin seems to be the source of everyone's problems from what I can tell. Sure is the case with me, anyway. If that doesn't work. Just permanently uninstall Origin and never look back. I've got a few friends (who paid the game) who just took the pirate version of ME3 in order to get rid of Origin and its bugs. From what they can tell it solves a LOT of issues. |

Apart from going offline and then back on after DLC check all you can do, it seems, is wait for it to sort itself out. Mine did after a week or so. |

Origin is not easy to uninstall. You have to remove origin first trough control panel, then remove origin from ProgramData folder (which is hidden, in my case on C:\) I did it trough CMD, then run CCCleaner. Only then you can have a fresh installation of Origin.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong.
Now that I mention this I haven't reinstalled Origin like this when the problem occurred. The last time I did it this way was when I downgraded to not so shity Origin version.

I have uninstalled all my Origin games, uninstalled Origin (all that using Revo Uninstaller Pro), removed all EA related folders from /ProgramData folder, removed antivirus and other antimalware software, killed firewall, reinstalled graphics drivers, removed Flawless Widescreen, removed MSI Afterburner, removed various junk from my PC, and run CC Cleaner. Fresh install of Origin and ME3 after that. Damn thing still doesn't work. What a day. |

I've had limited success deleting OnlineProfile.profile in \Users\[username]\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\Config Then relaunch ME3 and go to multiplayer. It might crash the first time, so try loading multiplayer a second time. Also, doing this usually resulted in Origin reverting me to my previous cloud save, so some progress might get lost. Crashing on loading multiplayer would eventually come back, so this was only a temporary solution for my issue. I believe the problem went away for good with an Origin update. Later on, I had a different, worse crash on loading multiplayer issue. As it turned out, a new program I was trying out that captures Internet radio streams required its own proxy server, and I just couldn't quite connect the dots back to ME3 crashing. ME3:MP does not cooperate with proxy servers. Check if Internet Explorer has a proxy server configured and disable it. Instructions here. Most people probably wouldn't have this issue, but this solution is just another piece of the puzzle. You might also want to try the instructions from this thread. |
