I got an ever so slight DAI in space vibe from the trailer.

Environments are very pretty, just like DAI.
Combat looks like a bit of a flashy mess, just like DAI.
Their blurb mentions forward stations to "call down", which sounds a lot like unlocking outposts in DAI.

Wait, did the narrator say something about resources being scarce? Wow... that must be a galaxy class facepalm if we came here for the resource rich Andromedan star systems, huh?

It does look really, really nice though, as long as they don't try any fancy animation like that disarming scene. Some of the landscapes were gorgeous.

The only pause I saw brought up a big menu and disabled camera control. I wouldn't say that constitutes surveying the battlefield.

If that's the only combat pause available, I will not be playing MEA.

My preorder is justified like I knew it would be.

Now the excruciating waiting game. I also lost desire to finish the games I was currently playing. Lol. Help me.

Late to the party, but I was so impressed and hyped for this now after the gameplay trailer, I may have to preorder.

Just seeing all those beautiful, rich, alien worlds to explore with our squad mates... and female turian squad mate! Audibly huzzahed when I saw her and FemRyder and Drack.

Seriously, so happy with everything shown. Looks great. So excited for this!!!

Everything about that is bad.

Besides the wonky facial expressions she also attempts to disarm him by moving at a snail's place, and by pushing the gun down towards her chest! Hopefully they make some adjustments on that and by release it looks a bit closer to this:

okay so I am way behind because of times zones and work and stuff but I have now watched the trailer a couple of times and I just wanted to add that my impressions were not overall positive. It is true that the facial animations look a bit janky but that dosent really bother me, for the most part it LOOKS great, but it was the combat that makes me feel a little deflated. It gave off the impression of a wannabe competitive arena shooter with the protagonist standing in the middle of a field of enemies without any interest in finding cover and firing of an arcade like weapon without any fine aiming to be seen. I mean I loved the combat in mass effect 3 as the pinnacle of the series' combat. I loved the cover to cover tactical approach and coordinating with team members but none of that is present here and the talks of automatic cover taking have me really concerned. These are drastic changes from the loved franchise and I have to ask where are they getting this direction from? I get that its greatly influenced by the multiplayer aspect but Mass Effect as an RPG always should be single player first and whilst I liked ME3s multiplayer I would never want that game play for the single player which is the reason I bought the game, honestly this feels like they are going after the Overwatch audience, slight problem being that I dont like Overwatch, I love Mass Effect and this did not leave the impression of mass effect.

Additionally the resource management they have included totally puts me off, I liked the crafting system in DA:I but any such system feels completely off in the mass effect universe. This is a universe with modern corporations who compete over resources and hold patents over their technological designs which are manufactured in the thousands for profit, which is why it always made sense that you could only ever find or purchase that stuff. So why the hell is the Pathfinder stopping in the middle of their mission across a hostile planet to stop and grind out some nickel to make a new weapon mod from scratch?! But its not just that, you can also see on the radial menu shown that they have turned ammo powers into another micromanagable consumable, just like in multiplayer, I really dont wanna have to purchase various ammo types to manage in battle, that was the whole advantage of having universal thermal clips. This reeks of microtransactions to me, which sucks.

So I love mass effect and after N7 day they had really sold me on the set up and story for Andromeda, but i just cant play through a game this massive if it has a combat system I am so at odds with and I am sad to say that this is the first time I have doubted my chances of buying the game.

Anyways that's my rant over which I doubt anyone read anyway but I really hope I am just getting the wrong impressions from this trailer and that they release a killer game, thanks for providing somewhere for me to vent.

Trailer was better than expected, helped having really low expectations. Allows me to enjoy some of the new things they did show us

I was already going to preorder, but now it will be with extreme prejudice.

Is it a particle rifle (or something similar) at 4:08? It is rechargeable anyway. Hopefully it is not the only one.
