weeks ago I made a thread Infighting Among the Arks.
anyways, based off the latest footage it's clear we'll be killing some Milky Way Natives.
My huge assumption is every Milky Way person in Androma came on an Ark.
What would cause MWG Natives to split into different factions and kill each other instead of all working together under a united MW banner?

Side-note alien race doesn't seem to matter.
Unlike ME2, you have Krogans and Turians working under a human gang leader. Before this no one but Shepard could pull that off.

My guess is crap hits the fan with the Arks.
Then it's all about survival. MWG natives will have differing ideas on the best philosophy to stay alive.

You'd think that for a trip like this they would check out everyone who was coming along to avoid stuff like this. But AI has been stupid about other stuff, so I guess this shouldn't be so surprising.

I guess what happened is that the people that were hired to come on the mission weren't the best types. I don't know what could cause a bunch of them to go rogue like this though. Hopefully it's explained in the game.

It makes you wonder all these people going nuts and killing each other... No background checks were done on these people? Story wise something monumental has to happen for all these people to go rogue... So I'm kinda reserving judgement for now

The people that were present in that outpost in the trailer where from the Nexus, most likely, since 'station' was used to reference where they came from.

Head of Nexus security is a violent thug who got kicked off-station, there was some Nexus uprising, good number of AI folks are anarchists shooting at everyone and stealing is described as one of the main ways for a pathfinder to get new gear. Hey, how about that next Andromeda Initiative recruitment vid? We gonna be a brave explorers!

Maybe AI mission is fucked when they find out the Helius cluster is a disappointment with hostile aliens and scarce resources.
Jien Garson loses her mind and splits off with a number of folks trying to hoard all the good shit and starts culling the rest. Alec Ryder probably wasn't down with that and maybe that's why he goes missing.

Man my memory sucks, but I think I read somewhere, maybe on the Gameinformer cover story or somew developer's twitter, that the Andromeda Initiative got going on the prerequisite that all species aboard had no qualms with each other and were ready to move to a new place or something weird. It made it sound a bit too idyllic, but it could go anywhere from that.

It would even be a very reasonable starting point for the plot instead of having silly space shrimps MK 2.0 desolating everyone again.

It's like they didn't do any background checks whatsoever on the people they put on the Arks.

It's like they didn't do any background checks whatsoever on the people they put on the Arks. That's a possibility. But maybe the problems are caused by the situation in Andromeda, or maybe some other reason (like finding out the real reason for going to Andromeda?)

Shit goes down and everyone decides to look out for themselves. I was hoping there would be infighting among the ARK's and it seems like there will.
Either that or people liked too much what they found on Andromeda that they want to become their own thing an become hostile to the rest of the AI.

I think they'll be moving beyond that in MWG. That one gang leader in the trailer has Krogan AND Turian working for her.

I was thinking there might be some stowaways that caused trouble but then I thought 'No that is stupid they'd be there for 600 years god dammit David get your head in the game' For an Asari that is about half a lifetime, so it is doable if she got food/water if they even need it At least if a stowaway gets on the Nexus or Ark she has some time to think what she is gonna do in Andromeda.

Which makes me wonder who had thought that having krogans aboard on the mission is a good idea, to begin with. But following the human chick lead is also a problem. I understand how Aria T'Loak could handle Omega, but bowing to a random human female is different, you know..

Yeah, it's not like we ever saw humans in charge of mercenary/criminal groups before I doubt this outpost is nearly half as big as Omega.

Maybe it was more like a prison boat where they sent their less agreeable people.... Like when the British sent their worst prisoners to Australia to get rid of them rather than killign them.

Because 'every other species' had never caused massive bloody wars? Because it's much easier to take down a quarian or salarian?
Vorcha, krogans and (may be) batarians are the last species for my 'building the new bright future & creating our new home' list.

Vorcha, krogans and (may be) batarians are the last species for my 'building the new bright future & creating our new home' list. That's not relevant to what we saw in the trailer though. Also, I disagree. The salarians are responsible for what happened in the Krogan Rebellions. Have they didn't uplift the krogans, the war wouldn't have happened. Every species has its negative side. The reason for having the krogans in Andromeda is the same reason as why the turians demanded their help from Shepard in exchange of their fleets. Because they're arguably, as a group, the most resilient and strong(organic) soldiers in the MW. They figured they might be needed in Andromeda. Beside, it's not like they recruited a massive number of them in the Initiative. The bulk is formed by the four Council dominant species. Their numbers are probably fairly low, and along with the genophage, they're not that big of a threat.

Krogan survive hazardous conditions.
While any other Milky Way Alien has a ticker counting their life away, a Kro Bro can blow fools up in toxic worlds.
You don't know what kind of environments are out there in Androma. Ofc you would recruit the WE SURVIVE IN ANYTHING GUYS as explorers.
