That guy would have definitely been a better Emperor. Well with sand it surely got between his toes... the lava pretty much ate his toes. So probably hated the sand but loved the lava for removing the stupid appendages that were not helping in the first place.

Anyone else notice how the idea of faith changed between the Original and Prequel trilogies?
In the original, the Force is this new thing requiring leaps of faith, that if Luke believes in, he is eventually rewarded. Luke "let's go" and the Force allows him to blow up the Death Star. Yoda keeps telling him to feel the Force to gain power, "Do or do not; there is no try." Faith rewarded.
In the prequels, the Force is known (to everyone?), and already part of the Jedi dogma. But there is almost an over-reliance on it, and this results in Qui Gon forcing the training of Anakin, the Jedi trusting the "prophecy", and not being able to stop Palpatine. Is this the pitfalls of blind faith?
Are the new sequels doing something with faith? They seem much more about faith in people - sometimes misplaced. Rey idolizes the heroes of the Rebellion, Han has faith in his son Ben, Luke loses his faith in himself....
P.S. Snoke directly talks about renewed faith in his apprentice during his interrogation of Rey. We all know how that turned out.

2) the idea that a moderator would listen to my take on the situation - and me not be the one in trouble when it's all over, or just laughed at and ignored - is actually funnier I could ask BioWareMod02 to help out if you want something stricter... Any time, darling.

By that sentence alone, I'd say no. Anakin wasn't a Gary Sue.

At this rate, we might as well put up a separate TLJ thread so this one can actually talk about something else in the Star Wars universe. Just my thought.

Negative, it wouldn't be a good thing. We all need to learn to get along as one happy Star Wars family.

It'd probably be a train wreck from the get-go, but it seems that whenever TLJ is merely mentioned, at least five or more pages of arguments ensue. Just something to think over

We could do that if the forum thinks it would be a good thing. I'd suggest a "Star Wars legends" thread for the EU stuff and a "Disney wars" thread for the new products Disney have been shovelling out. Prequel and OT discussion could go in either or even a third thread TBH, but I'd favour lumping it in with "legends".

Just something to think over In my experience, the relentless negatively will not end, like, EVER (see ME3 ending), and those of us who want to talk about the movies just have to learn to ignore it. P.S. Of course, I like making fun of the movies as much as I like talking about them, but that's just me.

Although, I do agree that we need to learn to move past of all this and get back to talking about Star Wars in general, but it seems that just when we start moving away from TLJ, someone drags it all back in. I think we all should know who feels what on that movie by now, and simply ignoring it would be a start. Seriously though, Solo has come and gone, a new Star Wars game is coming, and we're still debating Rey being a Mary Sue and how people who like/hate TLJ are muppets.

I'm not sure if there are enough Star Wars fans on this forum to justify multiple threads. There's maybe ten regular contributers to this thread? That's not enough to merit two separate threads. If someone doesn't like the discussions happening on this thread, then let the thread die. Kill it, if you have to. there are other places to discus Star Wars you can go. You don't get to tell other posters to shut up about certain topics. They have as much right to b*tch and moan as you do, so long as they abide by the rules of this forum.

I think a separate thread is an utter waste of everyone's time to be honest, there just isn't the numeric weight to support it for one. For another doing this just to satisfy those that want their echo chamber sort of defeats the entire point of a discussion thread. Without contradictory opinions, all you have is mindless agreement. Personally I wish we had more debate in the thread if anything...I haven't had a chance to bust this out in almost a year now T_T

You bitch about a movie you haven't seen... He can follow a crowd if he likes, I'd say he's uninformed of subtle nuances and scene specifically gripes(Unless if the reviews go far more in depth then any I have seen) But...he can agree with general sentiment I'd also say and that'd be legitimate. Because I more or less share most of those opinions and I have seen every modern Star Wars movie(save Solo)
