Why the fuck did they have to bring in Emilia Clark? Seriously. She's great on GoT, admittedly not so great in other roles. We'll know if she can pull off this space-rogue role in a few short weeks...

Why the fuck did they have to bring in Emilia Clark? Seriously. Because that nobody who is playing Han isn't going to get the masses into the movie theater.

Why the fuck did they have to bring in Emilia Clark? Seriously. Because that nobody who is playing Han isn't going to get the masses into the movie theater. Han at this juncture looks miscast to me and there are big signs of too many cooks spoiling the broth. Looking cool and gearing up to blame Emilia Clarke for all this (the person I quoted may not be but crying fanboys elsewhere are)looks to clog the web whether the movie is good or not. I still think "teen han solo" doesn't do much. He didn't become a figure of immense scope until he took on Ben Kenobi's offer of credits for smuggling him, luke, et. al off Tatooine.

I thought TLJ was great so... Said it before, much of the rancor stems from anger over the sacred masterwork (lol) EU novels not being followed for the films.

She's terrible in GoT, imo. Very cringe. Do you like any of the acting on GoT? All the Lannisters. By far and away the cast of the Lannisters blow everyone on that show away (well Sean Bean is still very cool too. Season 1 is my fave). Even loved Gods of Egypt very much due to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau capturing the spirit of Jaime Lannister in that role too.

Said it before, much of the rancor stems from anger over the sacred masterwork (lol) EU novels not being followed for the films. That and the fact the OT characters are going away. It’s time to pass the torch people. There's passing the torch, then there's flushing them down the toilet. I suppose they could have treated the original characters worse, but I'd be hard-pressed to figure out how. This isn't about the EU novels. They were certainly hit or miss. It's about the ORIGINAL CHARACTERS and actually progressing them across thirty years, and letting them step aside gracefully, rather than turning them into broken failures that they can off one by one so the next generation can show off their awesomeness.

I didn't even get my first full exposure to the EU until just a handful of weeks prior to TLJs release. And even at that, all I managed to read before seeing the movie was the Thrawn Trilogy. Saying I did not like The Last Jedi because it did not hold true to the old cannon is a pointless statement.
