With the Last Jedi, here's what I liked: - Space battles and action set pieces were still pretty good (the throne room lightsaber team-up being the best action set-piece in the whole thing) - Characters were still likable (not the best written in this movie, but still likable) - The new planets (at least the concepts, actual story still needed some work) - The theme of failure and learning from failure they were trying to go for. - Luke's controversial arc (despite what some fans say about it betraying his character, I thought it was a cool concept to explore, how a Paragon gets conflicted when his idea of doing the right thing means doing an evil action. Good concept, and I feel the end with his force projection inspirational battle tied things up nicely, though maybe the whole thing could have been handled better.) - Seeing Yoda again. - Kylo Ren's continued confliction. - Andy Serkis' Snoke. (Dudes, it Andy Freaking Serkis!) - Holdo maneuver (despite being completely illogical, it was probably the coolest visual in the movie.)
What I didn't like: - Canto Bight scene was definitely too long and could have been trimmed of the whole "war-profiteering" angle. - Holdo keeping the plan secret from most of the crew felt unnecessary and ended up making Poe look incredibly stupid. - Killing off Snoke too quickly. (I know some people like to bring up that technically Palpatine only showed up for two movies and nobody knew much about him before he died, but the original trilogy at least built him up to be an intimidating presence. We already know what Snoke looks like and how intimidating he can be, so killing him off in the midway was dissapointing) - General Hux (truth be told, I never really liked Hux, he kind of came across as an impatient young version of Tarkin, hasn't really done anything to warrant being a major player in the First Order from what I've seen). - Leia's death and ressurection. (I get why it was done considering Carrie Fisher's passing, but I think the movie would have worked stronger if Leia stayed dead and the rest of the movie was the Resistance trying to figure out how to keep going without the war hero that inspired them.) - Maybe they could have toned down the Porgs (I didn't hate them, they brought some legitimately good laughs, but I don't get why they couldn't have just stayed on Luke's island?) - Rose and Finn (I didn't hate Rose as a character, but the romantic thing they showed in the end felt kind of forced.)

I forget did you like TLJ? I enjoyed it as some 'Star Wars action'. I preferred all the other films with the exception of 'Attack of the Clones' which I'd place bottom. So I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it in the same way as around half of the series entries. (and N7Pathfinder's list above is spot on, in my view)

Don't you mean Targaryens? It was familial practice for them

IMO killing Snoke was the second biggest disgrace behind Luke. He was the highlight of the movie and had so much promise and potential.

So Rian Johnson lashed out at youtuber Mike Zeroh the other day, which isn't actually anything newsworthy. Then he deleted his tweets ... which is actually a little bit strange. Rian is a man who has no problems engaging hostilely with people, he's been doing it for months, he's had no problems calling large sections of the fans manbabies, and then he deletes this much less offensive tweet? Makes no sense.
I can only think of 2 reasons why. First, he's worried after James Gunn. Second, there's been a directive from either Lucasfilm or Disney to back off the tweets going after the fanbase. Just my opinion but I lean to option number 2, there's been a lot less tweets recently attacking the fans from people working on Star Wars.
Just thought the situation was a bit odd there. Also doesn't he have better things to do than going after minor youtube personalities? Like, you know, writing a script instead of just thinking about writing a script?

That's the trick Disney used to remove midi-chlorians. (They had to make one right decision - though, to be fair, I'm a fan of Poe and Finn.) <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.960000000000036px; height: 2.8400000000000034px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_67965353" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="2.8400000000000034"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.96px; height: 2.84px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1138px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_60054236" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="2.8400000000000034"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.96px; height: 2.84px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 83px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_81726361" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="2.8400000000000034"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.96px; height: 2.84px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1138px; top: 83px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_71806123" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="2.8400000000000034"></iframe>
