SAM seems really really creepy, just in concept. and it was made by Daddy (the AI) and Mommy Ryder (the implant). Wait, doesn't that make SAM your sibling too? So, he's a futuristic version of an Electronic Nanny?

I know how I feel: TERRIFIED 1) It was bad enough to have EDI always online in my loft, having my father's AI? Like his parental advisory item or something? 2) If it can modify the responses of my body... what will happen if it's hacked by the enemy? Or an antagonist? Or an insider? Could make for an amusing/awkward/surreal conversation after banging your LI SAM: "Pathfinder, you know, sometimes I wish I couldn't see and feel what you do " Ryder: "Huh?" SAM: "Last night..." Ryder: "Oh...well, that's awkward." I don't know what would be more awkward. Banging someone and being in a "threesome" by default. Or Rider having some "alone time" and SAM "watching".

Because if the awkwardness of the whole situation doesn't kill my Rider the following questions SAM could have, with him being a learning AI and all that, most certainly will.

And here we are with another concept that makes no sense, at least at the state of our present knowledge. Could someone please enlighten me how we can share real time feedbacks with an AI that resides in another ship than the Tempest? Remember: 1) We don’t have access to communication buoys. 2) We don’t have quantic communication. AND YET we can share real time feedback with SAM even if we are light years apart? Like, really? Fucking space magic… that is uproarious. quantic communication...you mean QEC (Quantum Entanglement Communication)? Nobody said we don't have them(as far as I know), we just don't have ones connected to MW (Who knows why, maybe it was connected to Arcturus and so we lost connection when reapers destroyed it? /shrug) We don't know how hard it is to entangle particles with ME levels of tech, but I see that as the most plausible solution.

Ryder is connected to Sam, Sam is connected to Nexus and Tempest, so most crucial communications can be done anywhere anytime. It seems AI really had no limits in it's funding though.

Is it just me or do all the comparisons to Jarvis seem true at this moment? Seems like it. Emotionless personal library/assistant. I wonder how he interacts with the rest of the crew. Orders them to preserve Ryder's body if possible or doesn't count them as worthy to talk? And what's his job on Hyperion. Captain assistant or just passenger?

There was an old post on BSN prime where someone said that their friend was a play tester and it made it seem like Sam would get a physical platform similar to EDI. He reported that we was playing through a level and that we had a synthetic squad member that wasn't like the geth or anything. I have this feeling in my guy that he will be a full on crew member at some point but I've been wrong about so many things before so feel free to ignore me

Legion barely even counts for ME2, he comes in extremly late and unless you wanna kill the Normandy crew you have to rush his stuff and then straight to the ending. So yeah. EDI in ME3 was the only major AI squadmate

I'ma go out on a super crazy branch here... but what if at some point during the game, due to the complications suffered with the cryosleep chamber etc. The other Ryder sibling dies/becomes braindead, but due to chip in their head - SAM could technically *extremely non-scientific handwaving here* use their body?
"The implant is a two-way connection, giving full insight into the host's physical and mental state. While allowing it to generate and alter electrical signals along my host's neural pathway that the body processes as it's own."
I dunno, was just a random thought I had.

Go deeper and creepier, what if we don't know they have become brain-dead, and he is posing as the sibling, acting like them... *shivers* Maybe it would be his fault (accidental) and he would feel like he has to do it, to correct/atone his mistake Though I really doubt that...but it could be interesting thing to explore.

I posted this in the "Alec Ryder" thread. I thought it'd be interesting to get peoples take over here in the SAM thread.
I definitely want to know what's going on with this cat. He's been at nearly every pivotal moment for human galactic interaction as well as having a connection to Shepard. There weren't that many marines that survived the guerilla campaign at Shanxi so the likelihood of them knowing each other is high. What's also interesting is he (and his wife) were also likely on Luna when rouge VI/EDI was being created. Something happened there.
I mean, seriously, this guy is an Alliance legendary badass. I truly hope we have him in the game more than a few scenes.
Spitball theory time: This may be kind of shaky given the timeline issues. My guess is one of two things happened to ALec's wife, Elen, at the Luna base: 1.) The VI killed Elen and Alec uploaded her consciousness into VI/AI form to create SAM, creating that "special" relationship we've heard so much about. 2.) This is also the mission that allows you to pick a specialization in your class. This is possibly related to the multiclass system in ME:A.

Am I the only one to be creeped as hell from SAM after the trailer? An AI with the ability to change the chemistry of our very brain… Zha’til vibe anyone? Husks anyone? But this time around we’re the husks… What Javik would have said on the matter?
Call me paranoid, but I think I will discreetly switch this function off, while keeping the comm, thank you.

So it is boring that to me that the AI is a female model again. Why this time not a male model? Because of the variety and such I mean.

(following I using Google as help xD) However, I have the impression that more frequent women voices are used for VIs and AI's in movies, games and so on. See EDI female voice and in ME3 a female body shape for the android and Cerberus new AI got a female voice, too. Stark is using now a female voice for the virtual assistant, too.
