I made an extremely dumb Turian video specifically to bump this thread, but then forgot to post it here for like a week. So now I'm here doing this instead of sleeping, heedless of the fact that it's 1am and I've gotta be up by 4am:

3 Turians and 1 Human wannabie rejected some mercs. We were getting rekt as you can see, but in the end we kicked some buttz.

This is the Story of a young Turian Soldier and his first combat Experience.
(I may have gone a bit overboard with setting the stage for posting 2 screenshots... Hope it's worth your time anyway. And now, have fun.)

Just after Basic Training he got attached to a new Squad to gather his first field experience. He barely introduced himself before he found himself in a shuttle on route to Benning. Supposedly a fairly simple scouting mission had to be done, still something seemed to be wrong. This squad had a Cabal in its ranks. All the young turian knew about Cabals, was that they will not be sent on simple missions, But Rookies like him don't get sent on too dangerous missions either. And his new comrades' jokes made sure, that he didn't forget, that he was the rookie here...

When they reached the LZ and disembarked, he couldn't ignore the odd silence around. For a housing area it seemed too quiet and they hadn't heard reports about an evacuation of said Area before. More to himself he said: "Something's wrong." Just to hear a rather quiet, slightly approving, response behind him: "You noticed that, eh?" While he turned around he sees the Cabal, who seemed to have ignored him completely before, talking on in a now neutral tone: "Well then. Stay vigilant." before she moved away. The Squad's Commander chose to send off a small Recon Group first, nothing else but Guarding the LZ was to do.



Not long after the group left they heard, From the direction they moved to, a loud but fearfull shout: "TAKE COVER!". Young Turian painfully, despite the fear in the voice, got reminded at his Drill instructor and jumped on the ground immediately. And not even a second later a loud noise let his world shrink. Moments later he found himself meters away from where he layed down and spotted his rifle a bit farther away. Still not knowing what happened, he crawled over to it.
When he reached it, he took a look and spotted the burning wreck of their shuttle. His comrades all seemed to be knocked down by the explosion and left disoriented, if they survived. Next he spots the Mech like things moving into the LZ. Panic started to creep up in him. Instead of waiting he grabbed his rifle, jumped up and ran for the next building. Behind him guns started to fire. But his shield held and he made it into cover.

From his cover he saw how the Mechs shot at those of his comrades, who still were alive, and then turned towards the location of the Recon Group from where still gunfire was heard. After moving to a window he was able to see what was going on there. He could only see the Cabal still on her feet and fighting. For a moment he wondered, how she can move from one place to another meters away in the blink of an eye. Whatever it was, it kept her alive for now...
Not knowing anything better to do he took up his rifle and started to shoot randomly at the mechs. Next he noticed that the Cabal changed her movement pattern and came closer, so he started to concentrate on the Mechs trying to follow her. He couldn't tell for how long he was aiming, shooting and reloading. But at some point the Cabal was just outside the window and then she stood besides him and together they shot the last of the Mechs.

In the new silence he turned around and just sat down in front of the window. Having no Idea what to do, he started to inspect his rifle.
Untill the Cabal asked: "What happened at the shuttle?"
Without lifting his head he told what he knew.
She responded: "Those Mechs are Geth. And then only we 2 are left... The others fell shortly after the explosion." And then still in the neutral tone, she kept for the whole time, she asked: "It's the first time you got shot at?"



"Yes... I don't think I should be here..."
"Yet you are. And you fought and did well."
"No I didn't... I fled and I barely hit what I aimed for..."
"Oh shut up and take a look outside and you see what you aimed for.
You. Fought. Well!" For the first time her voice changed as if she tried to force the last words into his sceptical mind. He looked up for the first time. She looked rather tired, as she leaned against the wall beside the window, but still strong. As she turned her gaze toward the outside, she went on in a friendly tone: "I wouldn't have made it without your suppressing fire... Thanks."
In the upcoming break he inspected his rifle another time. Untill he asked: "What now!" surprised and ashamed by how weak it sounded.
Her answer was in the neutral tone again: "We wait. And try to survive."
"Wait for what? Regulation says no evacs without comms... All channels are dead or full of static..."
"True, But not all channels are dead. Just the Turian ones... While we were talking, I messaged a friend and asked for help."
"But Regulations..."
"The Alliance doesn't care for turian regulations."
"Alliance? Humans? Why should they do anything?"
"This is technically their sector and... Shit. Is your gun alright?"
"Yes."
"Good." A hand came into his field of view. "Get Ready! The Geth come for another go."
While she helped him up she went on: "We should get moving. Getting pinned down against Geth is suicide."

Now young Turian learned a new tactic fighting Geth. Get into position and shoot approaching Geth. Move out before they get too close and repeat at a new place. While not easy it worked.

After a while an incoming call disrupts this cycle: "Alliance N7-SpecOps Command for Lost Turian Recon Squad on Benning."
"Aye!" the Cabal answered.
"Got some bad news for you: Turian Command verified your mission but refuses to evac you. But there are also some good news: We send a Team over to check out the Geth activity at your location. They're going to pick you up. ETA 25min."
"Sounds good enough. Thanks for the help!"
"Oh and by the way we have lost a recon drone in your area and our scans revealed two servers with Geth activity. If you are bored down there, you could check those out for us. Sending mission details as I speak. Also good luck down there."
With that the comms went silent again and young Turian asked: "What was that?"
"That's what my friend was able to find as help for us. 25 min and we have an evac."
"No. I mean did that guy think he is funny or what. Being bored?"
"Don't mind humans. They are different and are willing to risk an evac for us. Anyway one of the servers is close. We might as well check it out."
"Why risk that. You said getting pinned down will be suicide."
"True. But if the Geth are using the server and we take it down, we'll weaken them and we didn't use any of our rockets yet. Keep them in reserve but they will get us out, if needed. Come on now. It's time to move anyway."

They found the server in a good to defend building and hacked into it. The Geth responded with an even stronger attack. "I don't think that worked." young Turian said. And got: "No not really, but their AAA is down now. At least something. Let's see what the 2nd server has to offer. But we shouldn't rush it now."
After some more moving slowly on they reached the second spot.

The Cabal asked: "And did you notice anything about the Geth?"
After some thinking young Turian answered: "I'm not sure anymore that they are stronger per se... They seem to use tougher units now, though."
"Good, Rookie." he got as an approving response "And what's the right course of action now?"
"Hack the second server, I guess?"
"I hope that wasn't a question."
"It kinda was but I start the hack anyway, before we go for the Drone."
And they hacked this server too. It wasn't as easy as the first one but with a rocket they made it successfully and moved on in search of the Drone. It was hidden well but they could secure it and bring it to a location, where it could upload its data.

Just as another call over comms came in:"Hey Turians. N7 Fireteam Ghost here. 2min till landing. Ready yourself for the evac."
Then another voice deep and growling followed: "Hey and it would be nice if you leave at least some of those Toasters alive after you already did our job. We want some fun too."
Young Turian responded: "Fun? Here is no fun to be found. But still plenty of Geth for your big mouth!"
"He He! Leave them alive and I show you the fun. See you soon!" And with that the call ended.
When young Turian looked to the Cabal he saw the smile on her face and with a shrug she said: "Krogans... They never change. Come on now, we have to get a Taxi."

Their tactic still worked but now they used it more for stalling the enemies' approach than for killing them and minutes later they made a run for the extraction zone and reached just as the Shuttle came down, a Krogan standing in the open door ready to jump out in case of a fight. But there was no need right now, so he just shouted: "Damn Turians! Ruin every fun... Jump in already. There is another fight not far away. Maybe we reach at least that in time."
