There are no reapers in Andromeda, but by 2185 there are about a million of them lurking in the corners of the Milky Way in dark space, right in the trajectory of the Andromeda Initiative. Wow, they were kinda lucky they didn't get blown to bits when they crossed the far rim huh? ^ Now that you say "cliche" I hope we don't get jinxed and there's some higher force of evil that threatens us elsewhere. The thing I liked about TGA is that it showed infighting between our own kind, and that's exactly the kind of politically intriguing premise I want to see some of with a premise like this. It's a kickass hook for the entire idea of the Andromeda plotline and I hope they don't take it somewhere lame instead. I don't know if you saw this map I made in the briefing breakdown thread, but I'll post it here for others to see. There isn't any chance that the Arks and Nexus cross paths with the Reapers on the way through Dark Space. Not only are they heading in different directions as seen from the top down, they are also in different halves of the galaxy. The Reapers are 'above' the galaxy i.e. Galactic North heading down, while the arks are heading 'below' the galaxy to each Andromeda (at a pitch of ~20deg no less). As to whether the Reapers follow regardless, well we already know there won't be Reapers but nothing about their setup in the map says they couldn't. It's just that the trajectory does not pass right through Reaper occupied dark space.
