It's a tough choice between Virmire and Ilos, Virmire wins on gameplay, whereas Ilos wins on atmosphere, and they both have god tier dialogue encounters.
Gotta say Ilos, though. As cool as the conversation with Sovereign was, it was mostly baseless posturing, whereas Vigil's account of the prothean war against the Reapers provide a real glimpse into the horror of their harvest. Plus, that music and that atmosphere just amplifies the experience.

Virmire, followed by Feros.
Therum is definitely worst one though,it's only marginally better than a UNC planet.

Feros. I Liked the underlying story and fighting my way out without killing any civilians was a very tense moment. Especially since they took the time to introduce pretty much every colonist to you in the first part, they are not unknown zombies.
However I would say my real favorite mission is the chain of missions starting with Admiral Kahoku, introducing Cerberus and ending with the first confrontation with the shadowbroker. Unfortunately most of what made it great was scrapped for the new cerberus and the new shadowbroker in ME2.

Virmire will always be my favorite mission, although Noveria is up there as well. I just loved the beach and almost tropical setting that Virmire has, kind of offsets the grim tone the mission has especially with the choice at the end.

HOLD THE LINE.
Virmire.. love quests that have emotional impact and represent a tough choice for the character, .... that said Ashley is usually the one that bites it. The setting, the assault on the base, Capt. Kirrahe, facing Saren... whats not to love.

Noveria for me is the best mission in the entire ME trilogy. It's not only the music, the atmosphere and the feeling we have in the planet. I liked the different way you could approach the mission to get that garage pass, the little sidequest in the main hub and the characters there were really nice. The suspicious labs, this feeling that you can get backstabbed every second. I don't know...for me Noveria is the best mission, when I get to play a new mission I generally put in comparison to Noveria.
Ilos is also a superb mission.

It's a tough call between Feros and Noveria for me but I would go with Feros. I like how something just feels off with the colonists when you land and then uncovering what's going on. During my first playthrough I remember thinking the reason the colonists were evasive was due to the Geth attack but during the investigation of of ExoGeni I found out about the Thorian and it's control over the people of Zhu's Hope. I also like the option of using the anti-Thorian gas grenades to knock the people out when they attack. I remember one playthrough I accidentally forgot to equip those grenades and ended up killing off half of Zhu's Hope...whoops.

Virmire. I like Kirrahes speech... I never tire of 'the speech'. The question on Virmire is not 'save Ash or Kaiden', it's do I rescue Kirrahe (and of course the answer is 'yes'...) Knew Kirrahe from time in STG ... a bit of a cloaca.

Virmire. I always said it was the original Suicide Mission. The level of depth, the big decisions, the amount of discovery and the reveals were breathtaking. I loved the combat when infiltrating the compound. As always, the only thing I didn't like was the mako section. I find them to be boring and redundant. My second place would be Ilos/Citadel battle.

None of the missions are a fav but there're moments, especially the Sovereign dialogue At Virmire and the discovery of the Protheans at Ilos.

It's a really tough choice. The most memorable I'd say Virmire with the choice between comrades and the first dialogue with a Reaper, the most enjoyable was probably Noveria for multiple role-playing opportunities and adorable Captain Matsuo. Feros had a really interesting story and the fact that there were so many colonists that you could meet and get to know... later titles failed at this. Also it was the only mission where you could fight without killing. And Ilos was a magical place with Vigil and that music. I voted Noveria but all these missions are my favorite. Except Therum...I always speed-run through it to get to the juicy stuff.

1)I really like Ilos. all that sense of nostalgia in a world which is pretty much a tomb to the Prothean race. Also the music is amazing. 2)Virmire with the "Hold the Line!" speech by Kirrahe and that talk with Sovereign and Saren is also really good. 3)Noveria comes close in third. Deciding the fate of the Rachni is one of the high points of the game.

What if I told you that before my last playthrough I never managed to save him because I always forgot something? Now I know everything and I make my choice at the beginning of the mission and not at the end: The one I don't send with Kirrahe goes BOOM . I didn't even know you could save him till my second run. The guilt, oh god the guilt. I prefer letting Thane die in the SM just so Kirrahe can have his moment of glory in ME3. Love that guy.

While I enjoyed all the missions, it is definitely Virmire. Did not even need to think about it. It is the climax point of the story, imo.

I guess Virmire, but I'm not a big fan of any of them exactly. The whole story wins me over, but the design of ME1 missions doesn't.

Nooooo! This must never happen in any universe! On topic: This was a hard one. I like the beauty of Virmire, but the stories on Feros and Noveria are really fun. I ended up picking Noveria though.

I was torn between Virmire and Ilos; I voted for Ilos. I love the desperation of the timetable, and the atmosphere and ruins. It was a big moment to speak with Vigil.
Does the Ilos choice get the benefit of including the finale? If so, it is definitely no contest. Storming the citadel and facing off against Sovereign and Saren is so exciting.
